hi everyone my name is melanie. Im a girl from downtown gatineau, quebec. Id like to move to new jersey one day to open my own record label in hopes that it works out. With the music business really going down in flames theses days, have you noticed that music has become too commercial its not about what the band thinks anymore the bands are out there re-inventing themselves to fit with whats it in at the time. I miss when music was just about having a great time, that you just wanted to go up on stage to rock out show people what your made of, instead of saying we gotta sell lots of cds so that we make a lot of money so that we get famous But most bands that made it today its sad to say but there not in it for the music or the fans but the money or free drugs, publicity etc. Well maybe music has become so commercial...cauz its the only way bands can make money. Admit that you rarely see kids buying cds in the local record store theses days. They are all downloading their music on the internet or listening to it on myspace for free, or they're burning cds illegally. But that puts the bands in trouble really...if the fans dont buy the cds than how are they going to make money to tour, get some merch and keep their band alive. Ahhhh dont you just hate the world we live inMy point here is that i want to open my own record label, and go against everything i just said. To only sign bands that are in it for the music and not the credibility. Make so that the fans of the bands on the label buy cds so that the bands can tour and stay alive. And promise that you wont ever see ones of the bands NEVER on a coca cola commercial trying to seel their music.Im melanie the promoter, i promote well right now ive gone back to school so i only do online promoting for indie/rock/hardcore bands i've done inside promoting for bands such as my chemical romance, taking back sunday, thursday, avenged sevenfold, the academy is..., bleed the dream,marianas trench, the hint, fall term, nick black, your favorite ennemies, sense fail, the confession, simple plan, etc....If you want some promotion? Hit me up and maybe we could grab a coffee and chat.Im more a web promoter i dont promote shows maybe in the future but not for now .I believe in a cruelty free world, where animals can rome free in the feilds without being shot by a hunter. Where you can have the same rights if your black, asian, caucasian etc. Where women and men are equal. Where women arent seing as objects but as beautiful intelligent people. I believe that our tax dollars should be directed towards an alternative to animal testing. I don't appreciate the government shorting our life spend but letting fast food joints allowed on every street corner. I don't believe that you have to be a size three to be beautiful and to be a model on the runway. I don't believe in buying fur-trim cauz theres more than fur behind than coat and its called MURDER. I believe in a war free world where you can simply deal with problems over dinner...or by writing a letter. I hate that people don't realize that global warming is more than an environmental issue here its the life our future generation will live. I don't like how you have to wait 20 hrs in the hospital to get called, by the time they call you your DEAD. I hate that bands theses days are so commercial, why can't it be all about the music like in the 70s. I believe in a greener, happier, cruely free, war free world!
