ATLCreative Loafing Best Local Electronic Act 2005

About Me

TouchXtone
TouchXtone was formed in November of 2003 as a collaboration between electronic artists Michael Thomas Roe and Jim Combs.
Their sound is ambient/space/drum'n'bass/down-tempo/chillout which they performed live with a combination of synthesizers, samplers, drum machines, sequencers, hand percussion, and the occasional melodica. They strove to never repeat ourselves live, and you can be sure you never heard the same song twice.
In their short history, TouchXtone released 12 CDs, and were named Best Local Electronic Act in the Atlanta Creative Loafing Best Of Atlanta 2005 issue. They performed in Georgia (Eleven 50, Java Monkey, Agnes Scott College's Delafield Planetarium, Miro's Garden, Brandyhouse), Chapel Hill (Nightlight), and Philadelphia (electro-music 2005 Festival).
TouchXtone music has been played on WDIY, WVKR, KXCI, WMUH, and Still Stream internet radio. They've received reviews in the U.S. (Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Creative Loafing, ATL:: Magazine, Electroambient Space), U.K. (Sequences Magazine, Melliflua), Netherlands (Alpha Centauri Magazine, E-dition Magazine, Electronic Shadows), and Canada (Ping Things).
