I have featured the music of Rush Hour Soul a trio from North Hollywood, CA on my profile page three months through the summer. They play pop rock that is deeply rooted in R&B and call it soulful rock and roll. Their group influences range from Prince to the Rolling Stones. What comes through is a unique sound and a blazing live act that is a mixture of rock show and revival. Their songs are filled with hooks and grooves to get everyone moving on the dance floor.
The group is led by charismatic singer & bass player Norm Kelsey. Kelsey's energy on stage is contagious and he has visual flare to burn as he sings, shouts and dances. Lead guitarist Bryan Farrar brings the rock element home, powering through riffs and memorable solos. Doug Gordon provides the rhythmic backbone and brings a cool presence to the stage.
They have been playing together for 2 years prior to unleashing Rush Hour Soul. They appeal to a broad audience and have club goers around Los Angeles bobbing and weaving from the opening notes. They were in the UK at the beginning of the summer and are set to return in the autumn, well worth going to see!
People from all over the world to discover what is really happening out there. What life is really like, what people really think and do with their lives. I am fascinated with everyone and everything! Why do people do what they do? Why do people want to become what they want to become?
So please say "Hi!" and maybe we could become friends, put our arms around the planet and give it one giant hug? Love is the answer!

John Lennon is a man I would have loved to have met. John was, (and still is,) a lone voice often ridiculed but never ignored! I believe the message of peace will get through! Those of us who feel strongly about peace must send out as many peace vibes as we can into the world. Don't accept the lie that peace can't come, instead we should believe that it will!!!
I'm have been known as "bowieboy57" on the internet for over ten years now. I love the music of David Bowie, have done since 1969. Music takes up a major part of my social life right now. Singer songwriters are my personal favourite type of music; but Bowie is a world apart from all of them, he is a chamelic genius!!
There are many new talents around but if there is only one I must draw your attention to right now it must be Tania Moran whose second album "Sanctity" was released in Australia on November 4th, 2006 and is now available by Mail Order or via ITunes. Her voice reminds me of Olivia Newton John it is sweet, melodius, fragile, breathy and beautiful!
Through Alistair Griffin (now with the band Albion) who is an amazing singer songwriter, I became aware of "The Bedford" in Balham, South West London and its webcam (www.thebedford.com) Unsigned singer-songwriters are there in their droves. The Bedford and it's sister venue "The Regal Room, which also has it's own webcam are a "town of plenty".
Tony Moore, whose songs and voice I love, is the host with the most, at "The Bedford" and "The Regal Room." Tony is for me the new John Peel! Tony uses the stages of "The Bedford" and "The Regal Room" to introduce new up and coming singer-songwriter music talent.
My other lifetime favourite music includes Elton John (the lyrics of Bernie Taupin continue to inspire and amaze me,) The Beatles together and apart, The Kinks, Judie Tzuke, Queen and many more!BTW Check out The Storys they are the newest major musical talent to arrive - they toured as Elton John's support act in Summer 2006 in the UK and on tour with Elton at this present moment.
.. width="425" height="350" ..Here's your chance to see one of my favourite groups of the moment RUSH HOUR SOUL new video "A Talent For Loving" just released! Take a peak I know you're gonna love them! They're back in the UK touring in late spring 2007!

.. width="425" height="350" ..YES WE CAN BE HEROES, JUST FOR ONE DAY!
MEN, FOR YEARS NOW, HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT WAR AND PEACE. BUT NOW, NO LONGER CAN THEY JUST TALK ABOUT IT. IT IS NO LONGER A CHOICE BETWEEN VIOLENCE AND NON-VIOLENCE IN THIS WORLD; IT'S NON-VIOLENCE OR NON-EXISTENCE. THAT IS WHERE WE ARE TODAY. - "I HAVE BEEN TO THE MOUNTAIN TOP" SPEACH MARTIN LUTHER KING JNR
I have many heroes, people who have affected my life in one way or another. Role models, mentors and those whom I admire.
My father and my maternal Grandfather are probably the two men I would most wish to emulate. I realise though they were men as much of their time and generation as I am of mine. Having been brought up in a Evangelical Methodist background, I spent a year at Methodist Bible College in 1979, so I admired many people in the life of the church, like Arthur Blessitt & Larry Norman.
Having not attended church for over 10 years, I have since found that the people I admire most are those involved in the human potential movement. I have read and listened to people like Anthony Robbins, Wayne Dyer, Earl Nightingale, Deepak Chopra, Stuart Wilde, Napoleon Hill, Jim Rohn, John Gray, Stephen Covey, Jay Abraham and others!
One thing I've learned whoever your heroes are, they are all human and have faults and failings like the rest of us! I have great admiration for people who helped humanity along in the past. People like Martin Luther King, Ghandi, Albert Einstein, Mother Theresa, JFK, Winston Churchill, John Lennon etc.
We all have musical heroes! Mine include David Bowie, Elton John, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Judie Tzuke, Queen, Billy Joel, Richard Marx and my friend, sadly no longer with us, Susan Fassbender.
Musically my main focus is on singer songwriters, these people aren't so much heroes as people I aspire to work alongside.
My blog is filled with poems I've written, maybe one day I will write music for and adapt them into songs?
I also have the greatest admiration and respect for Tony Moore, who I became aware of and wonderfully acquainted with, via attending Alistair Griffin gigs. Tony is great singer songwriter himself; and has via the Kashmir Club and more recently, The Bedford in Balham, South London and "The Regal Room" in Hammersmith, is an impresario of budding talented singer song-writers. Anyone in the world can tune in to the live webcast from the Bedford or The Regal Room, each Monday to Saturday at 9pm GMT (or GMT +1hr in summer). The Bedford and "The Regal Room" both have their own My Space or can be found via "www.thebedford.com"
Many of these artists can be found in "my friends" here on My Space! Follow the link provided by their pics and listen to some of the most wonderful independent artists in the world!!! The music industry has really got to take notice that live music and individual expression of personally written songs have the passion that many manufactured artists lack.
