President/CEO/Founder/A&R of Made Man Entertainment,"it's not just a name it's a "Legacy" a independent Hip/Hop/R&B Label among other entities under his company umbrella located in Northern California (Bay Area) and established since 2001. Carl was born in the city of Houston Texas. In a district called 3rd ward (South Side) but raised in 5th ward (North Side) and Trinity Gardens (North Side) considered one of the toughest areas of Houston. Carl then relocated to California in the Bay Area in June 1994. Carl started his two businesses Made Man Entertainment & Made Man Security Services, however he concentrated more on the music industry side. When he started to attend the Annual Texas Summer Music Conference in 2004 that is held in the city of Dallas Texas he saw his vision and passion to brand and educate the independent market. With the exposure of other conferences such as this and many others that are focused on the music industry or artist development he saw the need to bring the Southern artist and business to the West coast. Carl also bridge business relationships with season veterans in the business and major label executives to assist educating him further to keep focusing on the mission to systematically develop his business skills and brand his company. Carl continues to have independent artist of every venue of music to contact him for consultation, promotion and assistants of personal projects, launch parties, compilations and business branding for other labels as well. Carl is known now in the business as the "all in one" one stop shop now that he has tied music industry affiliates to his company,which are in the areas of media outlets, management,legal services, and marketing.
Here are some of the key artist(s) and events Carl has promoted and have been directly involved with bay area "SHU100",First Yung Starz Summer Jump Off event for the youth in 2006 that consisted of DPT (Disturbing the Peace) own R&B Bobby Valentino and the three original members of B2K not including Omarion, DJ BackSide & Bay area locals acts and a R&B group called "Identity" from L.A.,to promote inner city youth,artist Blood Raw of "Corporate Thugz Entertainment" located in Atlanta & "GodSon" from Houston,Texas. Personally assisted the president of "BMA’s" (Bay Area Black Music Awards) by way of promotions from clear channel to grass roots promotions which gives tribute to the artist that are considered "living legends" in the music world such artist as Too $hort, Tony Toni Tone, George Duke, Michael Nirada Walden, Con Funk Shun, Pointer Sisters who are also acknowledge with the Hall of Fame award. Because of his desire to give back he continues to support community and inner city involvement. Carl has sponsored and promoted "The Fathers Day Parade & Celebration" paying homage to the true father figures, and city wide toy and food drives.
Carl continues to show his passion to help others and the less fortunate because of the personal experience he himself has lived. This has also kept him driven to speak out for others that would normally not have a voice. His first desire to venture into this area was my involvement with the City of Hayward as a volunteer with the Police Activity League [PAL] for two years. Carl has also been nominated for "volunteer of the year" by the City of Hayward Mayor, Roberta Cooper.
Carl is a Associate Producer,On-Air personality DJ of Friday Night Vibe syndicated Hip Hop Radio Show on 94.1FM KPFA and www.KPFA.org with T-Kash. Carl makes it his business to be known as a person to be reckon with in this "game" for instance always be in the public eye of all events, community affairs, independent and major label artist or product launches, corporate events and local venue parties. By hosting events Carl utilizes them as another vehicle to brand his services and for Made Man the company.
Carl has hosted the "Flava of Love" part & casting search in 2007 with the VH1 producers of VH1 network in San Jose California, season opener "VIP/Celebrity Bash" for Oakland Raiders & San Francisco Forty Niner's party in San Francisco California, and John Legend concert after party in Oakland California and all turned out very successful events.
Carl skills sets him apart as personal & private security/bodyguard has been involved with special events like "Fashion on the Union Square" in San Francisco California, "Carnival" classified as the Caribbean fest day for the city of San Francisco California, exclusive security for "Geoffreys Inner Circle" and the City of Oakland private events, Club Promoters like Taylor Made Entertainment, Night Life Events, JT Presents and BMB Events just to name a few. However his high profile private security clients consist of DJ Quik, DJ Grand Master Flash, DJ Spinderalla, 2006 Play Boy Bunny Model of the year, DJ Kay Slay, DJ S&S, DJ Clinton Sparks, DJ Jazzy Joyce, DJ Franzen,DJ Mind Motion.
To reinerate why Carl calls himself the "all in one" service he has strategically developed affiliates that work with him and a strong personal team along side him that have a business or service which make up a complete package for anyone who comes his way. In this thinking Carl makes it a point to have repeat clients who come back over and over and will only work with him because of his strong business ethnics of have a beginning and ending to complete their project to it’s final stage and to include customer satisfaction.
If all that was not enough he is also license and bonded as a process server for litigation matters requested by attorneys of the law and anyone the courts award to serve in disputed matters.
Carl’s focus will continue to upscale the direction of his companies, stay humble by adhering his hearts desire to give back through community involvement, and lastly by creating his own non-profit for the disabled and less privileged youth, including sharing with other charity events in and around the state of California.
