My Heroes are pirates, scallywags & wenches. These truly altruistic souls enjoy donning their grab & brandishing a sword for worthy charities & causes. Whether they be a rouge soul, or a part of a bead tossin’ krewe, they keep to a code that is purely philanthropic. They take what they can & give something back.
These men & women appear throughout the year at hospitals, schools, festivals, events, and in parades to benefit such causes such as: Barbara Bush Children's Hospital, Choc's Children's Hospital, Shriner's Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, American Red Cross, Autism Speaks, Think Pink Benefit, Faces of Courage, Locks of Love, School for the Deaf, CODA, Amputee Assistance, Air Ambulance, First watch, Kidz First, Scholarships, Children's Home, HIV/AIDS, The Dream Factory, The Boys and Girls Clubs, coastal cleanups, Hurricane relief, Guatemalan Agro-forestry, and Pirate Toy Fund. I am sure that is just a few!
So, to them, I say thank you. I say that with much respect. Pirates may live to entertain through song & swagger but, it is done with a full heart. They are proof, not all treasure is silver and gold.
