About Me

I'm CRAZY! but don't tell anybody! oh! also, i am a monkey. they say they found me in a metal cage on a deserted island, in a haunted peninsula on the spooky side of the border, and for 15 years now they have been trying to teach me etiket and maners. some of it stays with me, some goes right over my head...oh, and by they i mean me, and by me i mean that guy in the pictures, or that monkey in the pictures...and dont tell me its a gorilla, i know it looks like one but that ape moved like a monkey, smelt like a monkey, and tasted like a monkey! i know what i smelt!

I'd like to meet:

Welllllllllll, there are a lot of DEAD people i'd like to meet, you know, heroes, explorers, vikings, barbarians, emperors, pioneers, those kinda guys, but most of 'em are dead....i would like to meet a lot of comedians, you know, people whose profession it is to be funny. i bet they'd be funny. a lot of fictional people too, but i guess i can leave that to my imagination.who else? i would like to meet World War II veterans, i can't even begin to imagine the things they have seen. i would like to meet people who have experienced amazing things. survivors, explorers, the first people to see or do something amazing, the discovery of a waterfall or the final victory over a tyrants rule.and if they exist, i'd like to meet Spinal Tap. OH! I KNOW! i'd really like to meet a girl that would laugh at a Ralph Wiggum t-shirt.waitaminnit, is this whole "who i'd like to meet" thing about myspace or history in general? oh man, have i been goin about this all wrong....Uncle Creamy, Destroyer of Worldsalso, i'd like to meet this guy

Music:

WOW, where to start.....um......I know! How bout the shameless plug! There's this band, Five Alarm Funk, man do they kick ass.....reallly uplifting music. They sound like some kind of musical gumbo served with a side order of outrageousness. BUT THEIR CONGA PLAYER SUCKS Get Your Own! | View Slideshow As far as ESTABLISHED bands go...well, there's Fela Kuti, Tito Puente, Poncho Sanchez (DAMN HIM! I WANTED THAT NAME!), Antibalas, the older Santana stuff (he's been collaborating with losers for a while), Afro Cuban Allstars, Buena Vista Social Club, James Brown, The Temptations, Earth Wind and Fire, Parlaiment Funkadelic, Bootsy, Tower of Power, Rick James, George Benson, CCR, Johnny Cash, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Primus, Tool, Stone Temple Pilots (before Scott Whelan cleaned up), Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Bob Marley, Toots and the Maytals, Weather Report (and Jaco of course), Victor Wooten, David Bowie, Django Reinhardt, the Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Maceo Parker, Sly and the Family Stone, Kool and the Gang (a lot funkier than people think), MF Doom (wicked), Ice Cube (hilarious), and Cypress Hill (stoned out of my gourd)... that about covers it, but I'm sure I'll think of more soon....good stuff tho eh? most of it happy, most of it groove, most of it damn good...Frank Zappa cracks me the fuck up

Movies:

The Big Lebowski, my favourite movie of all time, also happens to be my favourite comedy of all time...i wonder how that works .... AGHHHHHHHH!!!!!! how could i forget the 13th warrior! VIKINGS MAN! WHAT A LIFE THEY LEAD!!! then you got Run Ronnie Run (a must see for anyone who likes to laugh), Old School (i actually cried laughing the first time i saw Will Ferrell tranquilize himself), Monty Python, Made, i like a lot of comedies (i tend to laugh a lot). BUT i enjoy movies that make you think, Genesis, Microcosmos, Baraka, Koyannisqatsqi (hahahaha how the FUCK do you spell that?!?!), ANY Terry Gilliam movie, especially Brazil and Baron Munchausen, Requiem for a Dream, Dark City, the ORIGINAL Metroplis, ANY Kurosawa films...then there are the staples of my childhood: the original Batman, Labyrinth, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movies, Beetlejuice, Ghostbusters 1 & 2, man, this list could go on....ooh ooh, i can't forget all the crazy anime i have seen in my life. the classic Akira, the haunting Jin Roh, the WICKED Samurai Champloo, Ninja Scroll, Metropolis, Samurai Jack, there are amazing things you can draw....there are too many to list.....ANIMAL HOUSE!

Television:

i dont watch tv no more now that they got most of the good stuff on DVD. and by good stuff, i mean TV from back in the day. A-TEAM BABY!

Books:

Anyone who wants to find themselves, or find peace, but feel the need for some kind of template or guide, I must recommend Herman Hesse. Every book I have read has led me to a new spiritual and mental awareness. I have humbly tried to follow in the footsteps of his characters, and it has made me a better person.Robert E. Howard is one of the finest authors I have had the privilage to read. His noble savage, Conan, is a hero, but is by no means a knight in shining armour. He is a barbarian through and through, but with a morality that makes the men of civlization look like squabbling infants. The haunting stories of Edgar Allen Poe are among my current favorites, and man, can that guy write suspense....BOO!

Heroes:

Fela Kuti, the man who challenged a nation by creating his own country, only to lose all that he held dear. Even so, he held fast by his beliefs, remained strong throughout his life, and brought forth some of the most inspiring music I have ever heard. Fela Anikulapo Kuti, "the man who walks with death in his pocket".For my ABSOLUTE hero, I must concede that "honour" to a fictional character, the embodiment of the noble savage: Conan of Cimmeria, the man who rose from a barbarian warrior to king of the greatest kingdom of earth, conveys not just a sense of power, but also a sense of honour not seen in men for many an age.
