About Me

We live in a world where the notion of individual rights is changing. Our freedom has become suspect: COINTELPRO and the Patriot Act have given the government unlimited wiretap authority and expanded search and siezure rights. Dissent and the revolutionary spirit, virtues that carved out so many of the crucial moments in the history of this country, are no longer valued but disparaged. The media and legislators propogate an allegiance-- not to a set of political values-- but to a culture of rampant consumerism. Our individual autonomy has been eroded in the service of this machine. "Homeland Security" has become a platform for eviscerating an individual's right to free speech and privacy. The television and newspapers have sold us fear to justify our loss of rights and our nation's seemingly endless war on terror.In post 9-11 America, one of the remaining vestiges of individual freedom is the right of property owners to have private security. That is, security which is not immediately beholden to the state. I am part of a group of individuals devoted to elevating the standards at which private security operates. In our alcoholic culture, where liability issues predominate and the bulk of private citizens manage to fuck up thier lives, we are the safety-valve. We are commited to transcending the stereotype of the thuggish bouncer and giving birth to an individual trained in emergency response. We are the ones keeping you-- the public at large under the influence-- from making bad decisions. In our world, doctors, lawyers and politicians alike transform themselves into bullies, bragarts and vandals. You come at us in crowds, three, four or six hundred at a time, each of you in an altered state. You come on so many different drugs, and combinations of drugs, that you can either be agitated and aggressive or ready to hit the floor. When you believe we are wrong, you belittle, threaten and assault us. We handle you with grace, dignity and compassion. We have become very good at assessing your needs, and preventing you from driving drunk or beating each other into the emergency room. We guard you while you get fucked up. Give me liberty or give me death!
