Wired - Live, Unsigned Music Show Friday 1st Aug

.."Wired" is simply a friendly night of alternative live music hosted at a venue (currently Bar 15) in Burton on Trent to showcase unsigned bands from the midlands and beyond.
Its arranged and promoted by me - Alex Canner! The premise is easy to grasp - there's so much fantastic undiscovered local talent round here and I'm passionate about giving that talent a home for one night every couple of months. It wasn't intentional, I was busy whoring my own band The High Life Scenery (lol, shameless) at the time and it all kind of fell into my lap. I'm also currently studying a foundation degree in music technology, so that somes in handy too!
As it stands, the bill consists of 5 bands glued together by one DJ. Its an eclectic mix meaning, anything goes, as long as it sounds original! I usually manage to get it into the local press and with the help of the crew and performers, we market it really very well indeed. MAHUSIVE thanks to Lil Chris from Brumcast http://www.myspace.com/brumcastbirmingham for his support and....you can hear tracks from the band played on his show every week in the run up to the night.
The night itself is recorded live and copies of the evening's tunes are available from me, usually just a couple of weeks later. The only charge I ask is the donation of a blank CD for me to put it all on! So you see, you can experience the experience all over again from the comfort of your easy-chair, untill the next one comes along! ;o)
The evening is uaually chaos for me but....i love it! And to see people enjoying a night which is completely removed from the usual mainstream gunk that gets churned out in some of the dodgy clubs in everybody's town centre nowadays, gives me a warm, gooey feeling inside. :o)
