Since becoming 9th Wonder’s protégé Ive learned that you don’t have to say a lot always. Hip hop, or art in general, is for the most part just “doing you†and having fun. And that, my friends, is just what I plan to do. In the words of my fellow DC brethrens- “I’m not like themâ€.A Snow Hill, North Carolina native, Rapsody was hip to the hop at a young age. Always glued to the tube for the next viewing of YO! MTV Raps with MC Lyte, Queen Latifah, Fresh Prince and DJ Jazzy Jeff and some of the finest emcees of all time. To grow up in the golden era of hip hop is to be Sojourner Truth running the railroad to freedom. Hip Hop created a “New World†and Rapsody is a fresh dynamic.She attended North Carolina State University, with a concentration in Accounting. In between the classes and Kappa parties, Rapsody was able to establish NCSU’s first Hip Hop Organization (H2O) with her group members of Kooley High.In July of 2005, the organization was able to produce their first musical compilation, in which Rapsody wrote and recorded her first two songs. Just two years later, she is now hip hop’s favorite producer's, 9th Wonder, artist on his independent label – It’s a Wonderful World.Rapsody was featured on 9th Wonder’s album, Dream Merchant Vol. 2, released October 9th, 2007. Currently, she is working on a mixtape, album, and Kooley High project. 2008 is going to bring a heat wave.
