About Me

Nominated in Providence, Rhode Island's
Motif Magazine Music Awards
Best Singer/Songwriter '07 & '08
Best CD 'Smart Too Late, Old Too Soon' '07
Best CD for 'Trilogy' '08
Chuck Williams has been appearing throughout New England.......his music could be defined as Americana, but not in the Old Glory sense of the word, though it conveys the spirit of an America that existed in days gone by. It has some of the same energies of Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, CSN and definitely Neil Young, while not sounding like any of them. There is something here that a lot of people are going to latch on to, especially in these trying times.

This songwriters music is of love gained, love lost, growing up and moving on. He can take you on a journey that makes you think, smile and at times want to cry. His lyrics and melodies are a musical journey reflecting emotions of everyday life.

Chuck won the 2005 Ludlow Folk Festival Songwriter Contest
for 'Smart Too Late, Old Too Soon', a song that tracks the life of a solitary man. He received Honorable Mention from the 2006 PeaceDriven Songwriting Awards Chuck was also a finalist in the 2007 Cape Cod & Islands Songwriting Contest with his politically savy ode 'On The Line'.

Chuck has performed at venues such as the Hampton Beach Pavilion in New Hampshire, Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis, MA, Katherine Cornell Theatre on Martha's Vineyard, the Narrow's Center for the Arts in Fall River, MA, Guthrie Center in Gt. Barrington, MA, Steve's Backstage Pass, Taunton, MA as well as numerous coffeehouses throughout the Northeast.

Chuck is a member of R.I.S.A. (Rhode Island Songwriters Association) A.S.C.A.P. and Veterans for Peace.

Tracks from 'Smart Too Late, Old Too Soon' can now be heard on the following stations WTBY, WUMD, WRUI, WBCR, WOMR, WERS, WFCR also WCUW, WPYX, WATD, WGBH, WMVY, WRHO, WBMB & WNCW. You may also catch his tunes on www.wholewheatradio.com , www.mvyradio.com , and www.live365.com
In January '07 Chuck's song 'On The Line' was ranked 10th on Neil Young's Top 'Songs of the Times' featuring protest and topical songs from his 'Living with War' website.
