About Me

Played guitar in church, in tents with Lawson Spiller(check him out),banjo in scratch bluegrass bands with Leon Hunt in Bath,a Skiffle troupe, jammed with Yon Canny Band, started my first band with some good mates at work called Broken Mascot playing my Jackson electric,12 string and my mates wicked active hohner headless bass to Bryan Adams, The Verve,Lenny Kravitz and Stones covers and did a few big halls. We added a bassist and a female vocalist(Effi Corby who I hope has had her big break as a dancer)but inner demons and friction caused untold confusion and it swiftly blew up! So the next huge chapter began with drummer Pete Greenfield and Rob on guitar with myself opting for bass to avert the previous turmoil. In a week I'd written three and grafted them to Robs guitar riffs,,off we went! With a female vocalist we went out as First Element and had Jonny Scaramanga on co-lead guitar for a few months before he went to Brighton guitar college and then on to write for Total Guitar. With a new drummer Jerry we hit the gigtrail with some commitment. Over the next five years the lyrics and songs kept coming to me of which a few I brought to the band which got mixed in with the covers of the sets. We had a slow steady rise in bookings and appearances, local airplay, support slots for some almost well known touring bands and then a sniff from an EMI mate of a mate who turned up for six gigs recording all our originals on his fone and promising huge possibilties. Boom it all went..all £7000 of gigs got cancelled and two websites lost It was not me or Rob or Jerry the drummer...so it was...... After three months of vocalist auditions Emma was invited to sing with us WOW what a singer. This lass did kelly Clarkson to Stonesour to Velvet Revolver, she could do anything we threw at her! Special mention to Jerry now who did a full set in Sept.07 with a shattered finger..God knows how he did it.Then there was Rob who did three gigs with a dislocated rib! with a break in gigs for Emma's wedding,I got some session work in and got a three piece up and running, lets see where this goes eh?
