It's clear that there are minds as well as hearts at work here. It's clever, shadowy rock, alternative certainly but with enough melody to keep the mainstream within arm's reach... lucid and lively... final track "Overboard" is close to colossal... there is more than enough theatrical alt-rock here to raise a few eyebrows.

Dark and intelligent... U2's thoughtful arena rock (with) a metallic crunch... The band is highly skilled at setting moods and then thrashing expectations... Finely crafted alternative rock, much better than what is often on FM radio...

The Prophet Curse abounds with hints of Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, and earlier, quality, Canadian acts... but what truly grabs you about Tenth Planet is the lyrical intelligence and overall creative craftsmanship that are evident in every track, qualities that many current rock acts are lacking... they prove... that we can indeed "cycle back again", as they claim in the soft and hopeful standout track "We Are the Cause of Everything". In the case of The Prophet Curse, this means circling back to a time when rock was creative, intelligent, and powerful.

Deliver(s) everything and anything in a single six-song EP... Hauntingly melodramatic... A gut-wrenching political message aimed at both the government and the media... One of those rare breeds in the industry that have the ability to take you on a musical and emotional journey...

"Unnerving puts them right up there with some Quentin Tarantino bad-guys... There is definitely a heaviness underpinning this record that turns the rocking tracks into something rather more substantial 'Ariane' notches the guitars up with a rock track that matches A Perfect Circle for goth-rock intent and adds some sprawling metal into the mix like a thoughtful caveman discovering steel. The guitars are sinister and the subject matter in 'American Dreams' is bitter enough to scare away sugar. It`s poignant, it`s angry and it`s going to ruffle some feathers - and it`s about time a band put that danger back into the music scene. There`s nothing to fault on this recording, which is probably what you might expect from an EP that has production credits from Jeff Martin. If you like your rock heavy and your music shockingly honest - you`d be hard pressed to find a better record."

"American Dreams, written by Tenth Planets' lead singer Martin Ouellette and guitarist Brian Paul, is a melodic anthem that paints a clear yet painful picture. This song could easily be used in poli-historic documentary. It's that damn powerful. Stunning guitars with Ouellette's vocals delivers an awesome sound with unlimited imagination. American Dreams is something the US news agencies have their eyes open to but never report on. Tenth Planet has created the ultimate soundtrack on human migration."

Tenth Planet revolves around the same black hole sun that Alice in Chains did but with the anthemic punch of U2 at their most rocking Good music seems to be always coming out of Canada... But whereas () were unable to break through American borders, Tenth Planet just might have the otherworldly might to do it.

More brains and brawn than most of today's so-called alternative rockers Brass-knuckled, KO guitars A headbanger's ball that'll leave bruises Surprisingly reflective moments Vocalist Martin Ouellette has a startlingly good range, able to sing softly and rage with a flamethrower

"Do not confuse Tenth Planet with second-rate Pearl Jam or Nirvana clones... Tenth Planet conveys degrees more intelligence than most post-grunge acts Although the riffs have the sonic boom of Seattle in its early '90s heyday, there's a surprising amount of craftsmanship, dynamics, and thoughtful songwriting here."

A boulder-hard progressive outfit... Combining bookish, high-I.Q. lyrics with tidal waves of guitar slush, Tenth Planet take art rock to its sharpest edges The best of hard rock and alternative music (fused) together for a smart, invigorating sound Slams ears against the wall with blistering heavy metal riffs (and) captures the soaring melancholy of Radiohead They're capable of more than blasting speakers to smithereens Recalls Alice in Chains at their rain-swept peak.

Tightly crafted post grunge riffs mix with U2esque slabs of melody that draw in the listener all held together by a tight production job by The Tea Partys Jeff Martin which lends the songs a classic 70s rock quality while retaining an immediate and contemporary feel Bono on acid vocals Tugging guitar work that would make Jerry Cantrell proud Overall this is a confident and polished release from a very assured act They should be hugging the American rock charts with their accessible college radio friendly tunes.
