At 18 months old Jacob Armen entered the world of jazz
music. Playing drums alongside his father, Albert
Armen, with his keyboards, the two took center stage at the
family's restaurant, the Magic Lamp. By age 6 Jacob
was performing with CSUN's 20-piece jazz ensemble
conducted by Professor of Music and Jazz Studies, Joel
Leach.
With Professor Leach as mentor, numerous television
and radio interviews followed including ABC's "Good
Morning America," NBC's "Today Show," and Johnny
Carson's "Tonight Show," where Jacob performed with
Doc Severinson and his 17-piece jazz band. In just two
short years, at the age of 8, Jacob had performed with
jazz ensembles around the world.
At age 12, Jacob cut his highly sought after first
solo album, Drum Fever (with Paisley Park Enterprises
under Prince). Today, this album sells for about
$280.00 on eBay, and that's if you can find one. When
his contract ended, Jacob went on to form his own
record label, JAAB Records, and cut his 2nd album,
Breakthrough.
Now, Jacob Armen is coming back strong and is in the
process of releasing his highly anticipated 3rd solo
album. This brilliant collaboration features guest
appearances by some of the industry's finest
world-renowned Grammy Award winning artists. Their
names are being withheld until the album's
release. Stay tuned for more news.
