Every initiative starts with a Concept. The Acronym C.O.N.C.E.P.T. stands for “Creative, Onpoint, Noble, Concentration, Exceptional, Penmanship, Tradition.â€
A Duel Citizen of Canada and America C.O.N.C.E.P.T. was born in San Francisco, raised in Toronto, and now resides in Brooklyn.
Influences include The Beastie Boys, The Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Rage Against the Machine, Nas, Wu-Tang Clan, Tribe Called Quest, Portishead, Nirvana and Two Live Crew to name a few. His first verse was written in 1997, and he has been recording since 2001. C.O.N.C.E.P.T. is the founder of MINDSpray. A Collective group of MC’s, DJ’s and Producers, who own a record label, and production company specializing in live events (open mics, freestyle competitions, parties, etc.). He has collaborated with many Mc’s, and producers, artists that you may be aware of like Big Zoo (EOW), Substantial (UV/OPE Ent. and E Famm), Creature, Tableek (Mas Pyke), Polly Ethnic and Fred Ones. He has performed Feel Da Consequence on MTV Canada in Vancouver B.C., and has shared bills with Aesop Rock, Mr. Lif, Cage, El-P, Breeze EvaFlowin, Poison Pen, Creature, MasPyke, Game Rebellion, The Reavers, and Bisc 1. Battling is not his forte, though he still participates in local battles and has won the Guerrilla Words MC battle, and The Sin Sin Off The Head Game Show.
C.O.N.C.E.P.T.’s goal is to relate to people from all walks of life through his unique creative word play in his written verses and substantial freestyles. C.O.N.C.E.P.T. combats negativity through his love of the music and his desire to continually build in a positive environment. His energy spreads through any crowd captivating the audience with his presence and articulation.
