PLEASE NOTE: This section is called "About Me" (see above just so you know you are in the right section, and I'm not kidding you). This section is not called "About My Fat Aunt Flo" or "About My Dead Dog Rover". Therefore, if you feel the need to send me a message saying you read my "About Me" section and think that I'm a bit "self-absorbed", etc. (yes, someone did, which I think is kind of funny actually, considering that if you REALLY knew me, I would be one of the last people you would say was "self-absorbed"), well, you better delete me before I delete you because if there is one thing *I* (yes, I said "I") can't stand, it's people who are illiterate, despite having graduated high school. If you don't know what that means, it means you can't read....so you better buy a dictionary and go back to school. OK, now that that is out of the way, *I* will start with my "About Me" section...which, ironically, is about me (duh, go figure)!
Hmmm, this is hard. I guess because I tend to be a very complex person. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I don't know.
Just thought I'd let you know that sometimes, my Myspace page is "public", and sometimes it's "private." Hey, I'm a woman...I'm allowed to change my mind, right? LOL! Just because it happens to be on "private" sometimes doesn't mean I'm hiding anything. It just means I have been getting a lot of "hits" on my page, yet don't hear anything from some people, so it's kinda creepy. I have even gotten outright messages that say "how come your profile is public, then private, then public, etc." Well, if you are sending me that message, that means that 1) you aren't on my friends list, or otherwise you wouldn't notice a change in the first place, 2) you have no life, and 3) you are a stalker who is constantly viewing my page but not contacting me with any "real conversation". So, I thought I would introduce you to your new faithful companion. Isn't she just cute?
I tend to be a positive person and laid back, or at least try to be, but there are days when the negative energy is there, which I can't help. Don't worry - I'll warn ya on that. I tend to keep to myself when I'm having a bad day.
I'm an extremely easy person to get along with. My friends know I have their back. That being said, I can only be so forgiving when someone decides to take advantage of my generosity, help, or whatever. I'll probably forgive and try to forget, because that is just how I am. But don't expect me NOT to be cautious around you in the future.
I hate drama and people who "thrive" on it. I have no time for people who are fake, phoney, or otherwise full of BS. There's medication for that....take it, for cryin' out loud...and try to be a genuine contributor to society, instead of blocking progress! I don't know how "drama" motivates people to do the things they do....it's pointless...not to mention boring. Get a life already! If any of you "get past me" and wind up on my page, you WILL be deleted. I have an itchy trigger finger sometimes.
Please get to know me before you make any hasty decisions about me and what I'm all about. Like I said, I'm laid back, friendly, tend to go with the flow, have a sense of humor (very important thing to have in this day and age), and get along with almost everyone (except for those people who think of themselves as "perfect" and better than others...no matter what). No one is perfect...including me. It's a fact of life. Get it? Got it? Good!
Have I mentioned that I think "double standards" totally suck? If not, I'm saying it now.
I am the mother of a 12-year-old boy who has Asperger's Syndrome, which is a very high functioning form of autism. If you meet him, you probably wouldn't even know there were any problems unless you spend some time with him. He has the typical characteristics of an Aspie, though - little or no eye contact with new people, repetitive speech, obsessive-compulsive disorder, routine oriented, etc. I am so proud of him, though...he has accomplished more than I ever thought he would in his young life. He's intelligent, funny, and thoughtful. Oh, and did I mention he is adorable? What more could a mom want??!!!
April is Autism Awareness Month....get educated!
I've been told I'm a "closet Slipknot fan". I guess this now means I'm outta the closet??? Yep, I was caught "rockin' out" to Slipknot, ok. I guess the fact that I was standing on my barstool didn't make me any less noticeable, lol. Damnit...now my secret is out.
Damn, Corey....get up on the wrong side of the bed???? ;-)
A major pet peeve of mine - people who only post super super OLD pics of themselves on Myspace. That's even worse than not posting a picture. I mean, come on, if you are going to post a pic of yourself, make it somewhat recent (where you are at least recognizable, for Christ sakes!). And don't use the excuse "I don't have a recent picture"....that's why there is such a thing as a "digital camera"....welcome to the 21st century (yes, it's the 21st century....not the 20th, like when your Myspace pic was taken).
I like all types of music (see under "Music"), but mostly, I'm into metal and old school heavy rock. Believe it or not, the heavier it is and the louder I play it (from all 9 speakers in my car....surround sound is kick ass), the more I can calm down when I'm in a "mood". I suppose it's better than putting my fist through a wall (or through a deserving person's teeth). I can pretty much say that it has prevented me from getting arrested on many an occasion ;-)
I think Rob Zombie is a goddamn GENIUS!
EMO? WTF is that crap? Hey, if this is the solution, they'd be cleared out in no time!
Tickle Me Emo - from "Depress-A-Me Street"...hahaha, just thought this was too funny not to share.
Sometimes, I'm in just one of those moods. Like I said, no one is perfect.
I believe that anyone who is overly critical of "South Park" actually secretly watches it, shamelessly laughing outloud, but is too damn "P.C." to admit it!
I hate to break the news to every chick out there, but I think "Hello Kitty" is kinda lame. No offense to those who are into "it"...just my little ol' opinion that probably doesn't mean squat in the big scheme of things. What's the deal with it though...especially older women who are into it? I put it in the same category as "Strawberry Shortcake" and "Holly Hobby"...wasn't into it when I was a kid, why in the hell would I be into it now? Although it is nice that the kitty has no mouth...means they can't invent any talking "Hello Kitty" dolls for the Christmas run. YAY!
I realize that sometimes I come off sounding like a bitch, but you know what? I don't really care. That's just me. I'm not intentionally being a bitch...it's just the perception people get sometimes...usually from the same people who like to be "followers" instead of "leaders". When asked, I offer my opinions, thoughts, beliefs, and advice on certain things (except politics and religion...sorry, but those are a real buzz kill!) and genuinely try to help out and am sincere....but I don't push them on anyone else. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If you don't like my "opinion", so be it...then don't bother asking me anymore. I won't be offended. Really, I won't. Just go find someone who you know will always respond with what YOU want to hear - although technically, that's not asking someone for THEIR advice or THEIR opinion...you're just looking for someone to be your "yes man". However, a variety of advice and opinions can be good too...you take the good and the bad and weigh the pros and cons and decide what is best for you. The only advice/opinions/whatever you will hear from me are genuine from my heart...which may or may not be how you think.
Yep, that's me in a nutshell!
I LOVE cookies....I am even worse than Gene Simmons!
I make some kick ass muffins, too! Come....to the dark side....bwahahahahaha!
I love animals...especially furry ones! I own two Maine Coon cats...Moxie and Ricci. I have always wanted to own one because they are known to be a very docile breed, and I wanted my son to be able to handle them. Best decision I ever made. These are the most lovable, gentle cats...they like to be where the action is, so they follow you from room to room, like a dog. Moxie is going to be 4 and Ricci just turned 3. Unlike mixed breed cats, these guys can keep growing up to 4 years and weigh around 20 pounds! YIKES! Here are two pics...one of Moxie at 6 months and one of Ricci at 6 months. I am also including a picture of my son holding Ricci at Christmas 2005 to show how big he is...he can actually put his paws on the counter and watch me fix his dinner!!!!!!
