Welcome to NORSK SVART METALL (MySpace) a gateway to the Darkend doors of the hell that is WWW.NORSKSVARTMETALL.COM Webzine, a gargantuan archive of information into the NORWEGIAN BLACK METAL scene & all of it's fetid corners.
The site was conceived by Crin who was editor of the UK underground zine Godreah [1993-99] Many Norwegian interviews featured in the 11 issues of Godreah Zine , [Emperor, Gehenna, Ulver, Dimmu Borgir, Trelldom, Borknagar, Mayhem, etc [These will be featured in an archive section on the site eventually] The site also contains THE TOP 100 ALBUMS, THE TOP 50 DEMO'S & regular album & demo reviews.
The purpose of this site will eventually be to harness a complete discography of Norwegian Black Metal.
An A-Z of Norwegian Black metal bands, is under construction. Each band, each release has been personally acquired and all this sites written contents are the authors [unless stated]. The 100 Norwegian band list does not have any releases under two years old, [unless part of a more established band] even though many recent releases are worthy of such.
The music is of primary concern; the labels are of no concern at all. So, there are very few negative insights to the scene here, as all the bands that inhabit the Norwegian Black Metal scene are worthy of its existence, and all deserve a listen, no matter how dreadful the sound, how scarce the recording.
The site has released a compilation album intitled "Norsk Svart Metall - The Third Wave of Norwegian Black Metal" some of which you can hear in the player. You can order a copy of the album from the main site.
