EndEveR was officially formed in January 2004, but the history of the band goes way back Front man & founding member, Pete Guthrun, started as a solo artist at the influential age of 14. Listening to such artists as Depeche Mode, Crowded House, The Verve & Oasis, Pete started to get a little direction in life. Writing songs in maths lessons and spending his evenings on his mums kitchen table with nothing more than a cheap guitar, a casio keyboard and a pen and paper.
As the years went by Pete formed Dyonisis and at just 16 years old, got a taste for the stage (along with a taste for the whole rock n roll attitude). As Dyonisis slowly fell apart, Pete went back to being a solo artist for a while until, younger brother, Simon, started to show interest in music. After a couple of years, a lot of guitar playing and a few hundred beers, The band had 2 members.
With Simon on bass and Pete doing the rest, more songs got written but there was an empty drum stool and a gaping hole in the band. Auditions started but no-one fitted in. It seemed like a lost cause.
After a beer filled night at Simons in 2003. Pete picked up his guitar and just started playing any old shit. The music sunk into the background of the room full of people and went un-noticed to everyone except for 1 person. Simons best mate, Danny, approached Pete and made a drunken promise to learn drums for the band.. January 2004, Simon answered his phone to find that Danny had kept his promise. A week later the practice room was booked.
After a lot more beer and a few pretty weird practice sessions the music started to take form. After 12 months the gigs started to come in, but there was still something missing. Somewhere between playing lead & rhythm guitar, keyboards and singing at the same time Pete started to feel the pressure and the band slowed down. A lead guitarist was needed to take the pressure off the band.. Enter Stu!.
Heavily influenced by the grunge and alt. rock bands of the late 80's and early 90's, in came Stuart Bridson with his own unique ideas for the band, he put his own spin on some of the more well known songs and a new era of the band began. With his multitude of pedals and unrelenting Marshall Power, the sound of the band instantly changed - guitar parts were fatter and heavier, the songs and band as a whole took on a new direction and, finally, everything started to really make sense.
Things are still changing... week by week... practise by practise... and the best is yet to come!
