MyGen Profile GeneratorThe Mercian Project started out as 6 friends who decided to get together and jam out a few covers of their favorite bands such has Metallica, Megadeth, Strapping Young Lad, S.O.A.D, Killswitch Engage and Iron Maiden, this took place around March ..06 and continued on a weekly basis throughout the year. After four months of gelling in a rehearsal environment they decided to take things one step further and began experimenting with different sounds and tunings, shortly after this began writing their own material.
By September they had five songs written musically and Dave (guitar) began the process of producing the sound in his home studio. Following the next couple of months the band started work on lyrics, lyrical subjects, phrasing and harmony. In December Gaz (drums) decided to depart from the band due to personal reasons and the band is currently looking for a replacement. 11 February 2007 saw the band go online with myspace to test feedback on instrumental demo recordings of future songs. 13 February 2007 the band got together to discuss names and “The Mercian Project†was born.
There are now 9 songs in total, with 6 completed entirely, the remainders are being worked on as and when our personal lives permit it, and will be posted on here on completion.
