Rockin' my life away!

About Me

I caught a bad case of the guitar bug when I was fifteen and unfortunately for everyone else, there's no cure in sight! I just had to learn to play the thing, almost as though my life depended on it, my fingers would bleed, my head would spin and my patience would dissappear, but I think that I got there finally and eventually!I got into my first band when I was eighteen and just carried on, some were good, some were bad and some....well y'know! - Hmmmm.....I always knew that with a love of Rock n' Roll, Country and Blues/Rock, my chances of hitting the big time were somewhere between Slim and none, to make things even worse, ......Slim had left town! So I trained as an electrician, which has meant I could afford those cool guitars, play at weekends and still have a dayjob! In 25 years of playing live, I have been up and down the UK and Europe, I have been in some very unusual situations, such as being threatened to be shot by angry Italian police, they just showed us their guns and told us to pack up, who would argue? Our drummer did, so we left him to it! I have worked with some fantastic musicians whom I have been proud to be on stage with and sadly, I have worked with those who should have retired years ago, but hey.....its all Rock n' Roll to me!My style of playing is a mix of the good stuff, but not purist to any particular genre, so I find that I can upset many more that way! No really, I just like to play from the heart and be the best I can be.

Influences: Influences? ...er....all of them I think! ...A good selection would be; Firstly Elvis, of course! Then guitar players such as Carl Perkins, Cliff Gallup, Franny Beecher, Chuck Berry, Scotty Moore, Hank Marvin, Eric Clapton, Billy Gibbons, Mark Knopfler, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jeff Healey and not forgetting, the one and only...Brian Setzer. I don't think that I sound like any of these wonderful players in particular, but maybe small influences creep in now and again, not a bad thing!
