I HAVE NO CLAIM TO HAVE BEEN ANYWHERE THAT WAS CONSIDERED THE 'IN' PLACE FOR RnR OVER THE DECADES, I

About Me

THE WORDS TO THE SONG/VIDEO ABOVE IS NOT JUST ABOUT FATHER/SON RELATIONSHIP, IT CAN BE APPLIED TO ALL LOST FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS.
Click on Hawk's Rockhouse above for the best Rock 'n' Roll Forum ever!Where do I begin….from where I was born, I suppose. Braintree, Essex. We lived opposite a large green that sloped down (brill for rolling down) when I was very young and I can still remember the bad winter of 62, the snow was higher than me! Well, I was only 4 years old at the time.We moved to Chelmsford, all of 10 miles away when I was 6 and I’ve lived there ever since – although I have tried my very best to get out of the town, I can never seem to quite make a permanent effort of doing so, I’m still working on that one.I was quite fortunate to get a taste of Rock ‘n’ Roll in the early 70’s when my friends mother helped organise a youth club to get us youngster off streets, the name of the place was ‘Magnet Club’ given to draw people back time and time again – it was in my old school (that had been condemned as a school), we even had Gene Vincent perform there, I wish I’d taken a little more notice at the time – didn’t realise he was going to die shortly after his visit! I was at that age when I thought people would be around forever.I did what most girls did at the time – I went on to get married (far too young at 20) & had three wonderful children – that was the best bit of the marriage. I’ve yet to convince my kids that I would like at least one grandchild, as I think they are better off living their life first, which they are doing quite successfully.I have always worked full time and have had quite a varied working life. The best paid job I think I ever had was as a Divisional Sales/Office Manager, several years of hard work and use of a company car then they went bust, but I did achieve an awful lot in that period, hot air ballooning, brands hatch in a formula 1, war games, sailing, archery, clay pidgeon shooting - all corporate incentives. The most interesting but worst paid job I think I ever had was as a Travel Agent - with the bonus of cheap/free travel, which I suppose made up for the low pay. The most boring job I've ever had is the job I have right now. Thank God for the internet access whilst I'm working ! I'd much rather be up to my eyes in cement and grouting - tiling and mosaicing table and patios. Now that I don’t have to put my life on hold for domestic issues, I have the time to go out and enjoy myself and I have chosen to do this with the best person one could ever go to a Rock ‘n’ Roll event with – Tattoo Tom. We venture out as much as finances allow us to and we are surrounded by some fantastic people in the Rock ‘n’ Roll circuit – whom do not all lovingly agree on issues – which is why it is all so vibrant. Please forgive any bad spelling lack of grammar - I did type it very quickly and wanted it to sound as natural as possible..........Spelling & Grammar are only made up in the first place by someone who thought it all sounded good at the time and to any students horror - it has remained that way !

My Interests

Being with Tattoo Tom & going to as many Rock 'n' Roll events as finances and time will allow - then spending the remainder of my time talking and sharing information on forums such as

& http://www.federation-of-teddyboys.com Travel - I have travelled extensively since my first flight with a girl friend on DanAir to Switzerland (aged 17), my favourite place has to be Rio De Janiero & other parts of Brazil. USA comes a close 2nd - been several times, Las Vegas was surprisingly vibrant & I would like to return one of these days. I have always been creative - my latest creations are mosaics - tables, mirrors and patios.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone interesting which infact means everyone, as everyone has something interesting to say or do. I like meeting people who just go out to enjoy themselves.

Music:

Rock 'n' Roll/Rockabilly is a must, (I admit to a bit of Heavy/Hard Rock), but then again I love more Rock 'n' Roll XXXXXX and then the discussions about Rock 'n' Roll/Rockabilly on

I do have to admit that my younger brother plays in a Punk band called Jack the Biscuit.........and I do enjoy the odd bit of Punk music. I am not and never have been caught with hysteria on one or several singers/bands.....just because everyone else is, bands are about individual tastes - just like fine wine, everyone ears and tastebuds differ.

Movies:

When a Man Loves a Woman, Gone With the Wind, That'll Be the Day, American Graffiti, Great Escape, It's a Wonderful Life, Pulp Fiction, Bridget Jones, Carrie, Sliding Doors, Sophie's Choice, Schindler's List, Dirty Dancing. Yep, I'm varied. I absolutely hate seeing the latest 'hyped up' film, I will always wait to see them once the media have died down.

Television:

Didn't know TV still existed - haven't seen one in yonks. But if I am round a TV I only watch Eastenders, Coronation St & Holby City, funny thing is I might only see one or two episodes a week, but I always seem to know what it going on in them. I have enjoyed lifestyle programmes (Changing Rooms etc) & some reality TV (WifeSwap, Holiday Swap etc.)- but only because I'm nosey and love to learn how other 'real' people live their lives. Celebrity 'Get Me Out of Jungle' ain't bad either.

Books:

A Child Called It by Dave Pelzer, Don't Tell Mummy by Toni Maguire & other similar books - a bit depressing, I know. People need to be made aware of child abuse & maybe one day it won't exist. It takes a brave person to expose themselves to the world in this manner - they do it to help us understand that the World is not always such a rosy place and just because someone 'looks' as if they haven't a problem in the world - it's not always necessarily so.

Heroes:

Tattoo Tom, My kids, My Mum, EVERYONE I MEET IS A HERO TO ME.
