I was born and grew up in Ladywood Birmingham,which was a pretty rough area, left school aged 15 in 1958 and have been a rebel and a bloody nuisance eversince,I dont like people who dither about and i dont smile much either,Im happpily married to Nicky(brave girl for puttin up with me), Got 7 kids and 15 grandkids, Love wearing my drapes and listening to my rnr music and goin out with our friends and havin a few beers,I somtimes think about the old days in my teens when me & my mates used to hang around on the street corner in ladywood, They were good old days,running from ol bill and the fights we got into, A clout around the ear every time i got into trouble ouch!!, The birds, the dances we went to, It all brings back memories,some good ones and one helluva lot of bad ones,Uncle Bills cafe in Hurst street was the place for meeting up before going on to the casino dance hall in corporation st,Most of the lads got their drapes made at Fred Burn the tailor in union street opposite Henry,s store,or Chetwyns which was situated right on the corner of Navigation st and John Bright st with Laura Dixons Dance studio,s directly above it, Me i got my drape from Austin Jeffs down the parade in ladywood, powder blue,roll collar,Flap pockets,Link button,2 inch turn ups and double pleated fronts on the trousers,It cost Ten gns,Mind you the trousers were a bit on the wide side so took em round the corner in Monument road to some ol bird who took em in for me and only charged me Two bob, Right result there.I also had a burgandy waistcoat with little bits of silver in it, There were two jetted pckets in the waistcoat (ideal for hooking my thumbs into) My creepers cost me sixty nine and eleven pence,Not too sure if it was Stylo, or True Form, or Stead & Simpson where i bought them from, 4 d ring leather sides with a suede top, Nice black pinstripe shirt with a cutaway collar and a white tie, Had about two or maximum three shillings in me bin,A woodbine or park drive behind me lugg and down the road id trot and Boy did i look the Bollocks,(to be continued)I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4 a I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4 ....
