Joe Lavelle is a new-breed Tasteless Troubadour for a new age! With guitar in his hands and smut on his tongue he has come to spread the word that Rock n' Roll can be Funny and Funny can Rock!
Joe Lavelle began his unique style of Rock n' Roll Comedy long ago in Antediluvian New Orleans as a regular cast member of New Orleans' premier Improvisational Comedy Troupe Brown! .
Moving the act to Los Angeles, in 2003 he released his debut Rock n' Roll Comedy CD, The JuiceBox EP . Joe Lavelle has had many talented musicians back him up on recordings and during live performances including members of The Continental Drifters, The Bangles, The Cowsills, The Dream Syndicate, Paper Sun, Saucy Monky, Breech, Feel, 50cent Haircut, Krandon, Big Organ Trio, Nest, and Rockin' special guests like Shannon Hurley, Krister Axel, Naimee Coleman, Jenni Alpert, Janet Robin, and Flow!
In the Summer of 2005 Joe Lavelle began a year-long Monthly Residency at one of Hollywood's hippest underground Comedy Venues, The M Bar ! The monthly BIG Rock n' Roll Comedy Show hosted Hollywood's hottest alternative comics, including Monique Marvez, Ray Don and the Backwash Band, Throwing Toasters, Hard n' Phirm, Avi Lieberman, Ben Glieb, Lahna Turner, Stephanie Escajeda, The Pretty Okay Ho-Hum Spectacular On Ice, Neil Campbell & Paul Rust, Machu Picchu, Nikki Katt, The 11th Hour, Evan Wecksell, Raymond and Scum, and Hot Waffles.
The apex of the BIG Rock n' Roll Comedy Show came about through Joe Lavelle's involvement with The "Weird Al" Star Fund , a completely fan-driven campaign to raise the sponsorship fee to put Rock n' Roll Comedy legend "Weird Al" Yankovic on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Joe Lavelle BIG Rock n' Roll Comedy Show presents "I Think I'm a Clone Now", an "AL-Star" Tribute to "Weird Al" Yankovic , mentioned by MTV, Filter Magazine, and L.A. Alternative Press, paid tribute to "Weird Al" drawing a sold out crowd to legendary Los Angeles music venue, The Mint .
2006 saw the release of Joe Lavelle’s full length Rock n’ Roll Comedy album, More Popular Than Reagan . The album was lovingly produced by the much sought-after talented indie producer Cynthia Catania founder of olivoiL records and songwriting member of hot Los Angeles Pop-Rockers Saucy Monky!
Joe Lavelle has played at some of the best variety shows Hollywood has to offer, including GarageComedy , Wizard Finger , and olivoiL Records' longrunning series Songwriters On Tap !
In the Fall of 2007 Joe Lavelle was asked to write a song for The J. Paul Getty Museum to highlight a recent exhibition, Taddeo and Federico Zuccaro: Artist-Brothers in Renaissance Rome. The eleven artists asked to write for this project performed their songs as part of the popular Friday Nights at the Getty series.
Look for Joe Lavelle someday soon in your very own neighborhood, either bringing music to your favorite Comedy venue or bringing comedy to your favorite Music venue!

Sounds Like: A girl who I think is cool says that it is totally lame for bands to leave this section blank- like they imagine themselves to be so goddamn original that they really don't sound like anybody.

Personally I have found that the bands that don't leave this section blank always end up entering something that is just completely inaccurate- like, they list bands that they wish they sounded like but really don't.

Ah, well. . .
To appease a pretty girl, I'll say:

Abba
