SONGWRITER...GENUINE MIXED BAG OF STUFF

About Me

Many thanks for visiting my page.
GENERAL
I'm a songwriter with a wide variety of material, a genuine mixed bag of stuff.......rock, pop, jazz, blues, country, musical theatre, good cause songs and dark, thought provoking ones about tough issues.
I'm easily inspired either by personal experiences (good or not so good) picking up on things said in conversation, being given a challenge, or simply through empathy.
Like most amateur songwriters no doubt, I'd love to make more money from doing what I'm passionate about. In the past I've had many disappointments/near misses with my songs, have occasionally thought of giving up songwriting altogether, and I tend now to be quite cynical about promises made etc.
However, underneath, regardless of whether or not they're commercially viable, writing songs is what makes me tick, something I NEED to do, so I couldn't give up.
My past jobs have been as varied as my music is.
When young I was a qualified ballet teacher with my own school for about 6 years while working as receptionist for an Architect. Other jobs have included Voluntary Probation Officer with the Police, North West Recruitment Co-Ordinator for an NVQ Training company, and production worker in a mentholated sweets factory!
AMBITIONS
I'll continue writing, hopefully improving as I go along. One of my ambitions has now been realised with a play on a main BBC Radio Station. Another is to have one or more songs accepted by a good Library Music Company, and to this end, I've started to approach some of those, especially with some of the more unusual songs.
I'm a member of the MCPS/PRS where everything's registered. (CAE number- 288773500)
CO-WRITING..
The independent artists/writers I've collaborated with are all very different to one another, and because my material is so diverse anyway, this works well and I value them all a great deal.
If you're interested in any of the samples, or would like to have a shot at putting music to my lyrics I'd love to hear from you
Thanks,
Carol.x

Many thanks to Evan Paul Kozaris

New song here "Too numb to cry"

In October last year I sent some very dark, sombre lyrics to Nigel Potter (aka Terentek)  because I love his distinctive style and delivery along with the great vocals, and was hop...
