Comic Books, Lost, Heroes, 24, South Park, Simpsons, Human Giant, Acceptable TV, www.Channel101.com and all types of music. I barely ever make it to the movies except for most comic book films (damn, I sound even more geeky than I thought) but my job keeps me damn busy. I also love Jack in the Box, damn great food and damn great marketing.
More people that like comics and graphic novels!
Dave Matthews Band, Lamb, DJ Shadow, Unkle, RJD2, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Sara Bareilles, Placebo, Counting Crows, Wu-Tang Clan, Method Man, Cake, Ben Folds Five, Blackalicious, Pharcyde, Coldplay, James Kochalka Superstar, Avalanches, Frou Frou, Imogen Heap, Radiohead, Thievery Corporation, Roots, Bond, Boards of Canada, Justice, Go-Team and many more... almost anything but country music, I just can't handle it. I've been listening to tons of electronic music and stuff without lyrics lately, just trying to broaden my horizons.
Chasing Amy is my favorite movie of all time. Clerks, Mallrats, Dogma, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Reservoir Dogs, Boondock Saints, Battle Royale, Serenity, Batman 1,2 and Batman Begins, Superman 1 and 2, X-Men movies, Spider-Man movies, Comic Book Villains, 300, the Saw movies, all sorts of stuff, but you get the idea, I have a one track mind. I've been to the movies a whopping six times this year. You can probably figure out which ones.
Lost, 24, Heroes, The Shield, Human Giant, Acceptable TV, Simpsons, South Park, My Name Is Earl, How I Met Your Mother, 30 Rock, SNL (Kristen Wiig rules!), Best Week Ever, The Soup, The Whitest Kids U Know, Reaper, Journeyman, Pushing Daisies, , Twin Peaks, Firefly/Serenity, Buffy, Angel, Invader Zim, The State, Reno 911, Sifl & Olly and Action. Reality TV SUCKS! I just don't get American Idol. It's just karaoke with more people watching. If you gave up on LOST when it was "slow", you've missed out on some of the best TV ever in the second half of season three and all of the incredible season four. LOST is my favorite TV show of all time, just so damn good every week.
I barely ever read "real" books since I barely can keep up with all the great comics I'd like to read. Not enough hours in the day. I loved everything DC did from Identity Crisis through next few years, and I'm really excited about Final Crisis. Some of my favorite DCU books right now are Green Lantern, Justice League of America, Justice Society of America and Paul Dini's Detective Comics although I'm also psyched for the return of Manhunter and looking forward to all the Final Crisis tie-ins and spinoffs. I really enjoyed Marvel's Civil War although the ending was anti-climatic and Captain America went out like a punk. Secret Invasion is off to a good start but I'm interested to see if they can end strong. My favorite book of the last ten years is Y THE LAST MAN written by the insanely talented Brian K. Vaughan, who writes the best dialogue in comics (and now also writes Lost). Most of his titles are new characters he created and each one has seen a great response. Y, Ex Machina and Runaways are some of my favorite new series over the last decade. I really can't say enough great things about PRIDE OF BAGHDAD by Brian K Vaughan and Niko Henrichon. This is easily one of the best stories I've ever read in my 22 years in this hobby. I will offer anyone who doesn't like the book a full money back guarantee although I doubt you won't dig it. It's simply amazing, and perfect for anyone, whether it's your first comic or you're a lifelong collector. Now that Y is over, the books I look forward to the most each month are Walking Dead, Fables & Ex Machina. My other favorite writers are Geoff Johns, Brad Meltzer, Jeph Loeb, Warren Ellis, Robert Kirkman, Ed Brubaker, Bill Willingham, Christos N. Gage and Tony Bedard who never disappoint me. Ex Machina, Fables, Walking Dead, Invincible, Buffy, Green Lantern, JLA, JSA, The Boys (twisted!), Batman RIP, Birds of Prey, and Astonishing X-Men are some of my other favorite comics right now, although I read way too many comics to list them all.My favorite comics of all time are Watchmen, Identity Crisis, Batman Year One, Dark Knight Returns (sequel sucked), Johns' Flash and JSA runs, Green Lantern Rebirth, Preacher, Transmetropolitan, Sandman, Hitman, Starman, Scud: The Disposable Assassin and Y: The Last Man which is quite possibly my favorite "ongoing" series of all time. Although I think Watchmen is still my favorite story in any medium, but I connected more with Y for several reasons. Maybe it was just because it had five times as many issues to develop the characters and story or maybe it was because I was there every month from the beginning and was able to help spread the word since day one. Either way, comparing something to Watchmen isn't something I take lightly.I'm so excited about Scud The Disposable Assassin coming out again soon. I can't wait to reread that whole series in one giant book! I can't recommend it enough! Some of the few real books that I've loved have been the Myth Adventures series by Robert Asprin. Great stuff that I can't recommend highly enough. I'll dive into Meltzer's books at some point when I ever have free time, but look how many years late I set up a MySpace page.
Pretty much all the writers listed above, as well as Joss Whedon and Dave Matthews Band. And Tina Fey, one of the funniest women ever.
