Jeffrey Thames [King of Grief]

I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I host SOUND AWAKE on KPFT (90.1 FM in Houston, kpft.org everywhere) from 3 to 5 PM Central every Tuesday afternoon. I also spin discs at various venues in town when my schedule permits and the pay is decent. And every great once in a here and there I get the courage to generate the stuff myself . I'm (technically) a native Houstonian, as is my sweet wifey and our two purty kittys. I'm given to sentiment, yes.

My Interests

Music, pengoowins, and trademark characters. Periodic Saturday nights at the Shamrock Inn for Playback and karaoke double-headers. The odd Tuesday evening (following Sound Awake, of course) at Dave & Buster's in pursuit of coup'ns. And if you buy me Mexican breakfast foodstuffs at 2 in the morning you'll earn my unshakable loyalty. Just ask HooveR !

I'd like to meet:

Jerald Daniel Streeter. Last known whereabouts: somewhere in California. He was a radio DJ in Fort Wayne, Indiana in the late 60s. He's my biological father.

Music:

The finest album I have heard in the past year, quite possibly even longer, is CHISSUM WORTHINGTON AND THE SECRET OF THE NERDLE. Let's all watch the innovative clip for Chissum's masterstroke, "War Is Cool".Recently have I been all up ins:

If I could pick and choose my cable channels I'd still have it.

Books:

kids say the darndest things, the billboard book of number one hits, most any pop music history/(auto)biography, books about bad records/television/movies, dave barry's earlier funnier ones, anything written by mst3k alumni
