Ray Colas Bikers Ride for Brain Injured Children FIFTH ANNUAL SAT APRIL 12TH 2008 Is an annual event that takes place at Bellos Sports Pub in Sayreville New Jersey the second or third Saturday in April Bikers come from all over the state as well as P.A. and New York for this event that is for a great cause all the proceeds go to the Sayreville association for Brain Injured ChildrenFive years ago Inspired by the Miracle Run held every year by the New Jersey Elks Ray Fornicola aka Ray Cola A person who grew up in the city and overcame adversity Now lives in the suburbs Blessed with a wonderful wife and two amazing children He wanted to give something back to his community so he decided to start a motorcycle run to raise money and awareness for the Sayreville D.A.R.E. program but as it turns out the D.A.R.E. program could not accept the donation because the run was starting at a bar [a conflict of interest] the D.A.R.E. program told Ray to go see Maryanne Gorden of Sayreville ‘A Saint’ that works with Brain Injured Children [Sayreville Association For Brain Injured Children]“they can really use the help’ Starting out with only 17 riders Ray Cola’s Bikers Ride for Brain Injured Children has grown with the help of the New Jersey Elks and many others. Thousands of people have participated in the event over the past 5 years. Riders come from all over N.J. – N.Y. – P.A. and Connecticut Since so many people are expected to participate this year Ray has added a third location to be involved The run leaves from two locations Bello’s Pub in Parlin New Jersey and R&Bz in Bayonne New Jersey Sign in time is 12 noon and Departure time is 1:00 P.M. They will meet up at the Cranford ELKS Lodge in Cranford New Jersey where there will be five live bands a DJ – Vendors and a BBQ Then if they choose to, they can return to either of the starting locations for more food and a good time check out www.cranfordelksmc.com
