Jason The Viking Halvorsen was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin on the 6 of December 1961 at 11:00 AM. My Great Great Grand father was the famous Norwegian Composer Johan Halvorsen who was married to Grieg's niece. My mom and dad are Wayne David Halvorsen born on Aug 21,1934 and Dolores Audrey Halvorsen born on April 9, 1933 on Good Friday. Mom is the spiritual warrior. Jason The Viking is born the same day as Randy Rhodes (Randy and Jason's moms name is the same Dolores) Randy 12/6/1956 and David Brubeck 12/6/1920 are born the same day as Jason the Viking. Jason The Viking lives three miles from his parents who now all live in Anaheim California.
Just fifteen months later after The Viking was born he was given a brother born on 3/9/1963 He was named Robin Wayne Halvorsen Aka "Robin The Hood" Robin is born the same day as Robin Trower 3/9/1945 and Thor Halvorsen 3/9/1970 the human rights activist. Robin who has two children a young man now named after The Vikings father Wayne Halvorsen jr. and Tina Halvorsen. Tina Halvorsen is born on January 8 the same day as Elvis Presley! Robin and his new wife are Christians by convenience and live in Payson Arizona. Robin is remarried to a non caring valley girl.Well, now lets go way J.C. Bach in time when The Viking was a very a young man in 1981. The Viking wrote letters to people in Sweden and Hawaii. The people in Sweden turned out to be Yngwie Malmsteen, Jonas Hansson, Jens & Anders Johanson. In Hawaii he was a pen pall with Marty Friedman of Megadeath fame. Now The Viking was locked and loaded with all there underground master music works that had been sent to him from the vaults of his pen palls from around the globe. They were the unknown soon to be music giants of the rising metal Force. Then the Viking left one day with his best friend and fellow bass player Glenn Grotjan for a trip to Chicago.The Viking and Glenn Grotjahn Aka "The Cave Man" then took a trip to the Cabere Metro in Chicago circa 1983 spring. This was a very big night as Metallica was on the bill with Raven. Metallica came out to do there set. This was the first gig for the new kirk Hammett. Metallica came out and the set was on fire and at the end of Metal Militia Kirk came to the front and stuck his guitar into the crowd just at that moment in time the guitar was ripped from him by the creep next to The Viking and his friend Glenn had his hand trapped on the neck along with the creeps hand. Now things got ugly as the roadies jumped into the crowed and The Viking was pinned on the fringe with a Maelstrom going on. The guitar came bach to Kirk Hammett and Kirk played the end of the set scared as hell and Bach against his amps.Right After the sent had ended James the leader of the Metallicas rushed into the crowd one inch from The Viking face. James scream you know what you did The Viking replied nothing. I was rocking and did not realize the band had been charged by my crazy actions. Well The Viking had charged the crowed to much. James Hetfield said do you know what you are and Jason prepared to be tossed from the Metro. For a crime he did not commit. A spark that lit a fire. James Hetfield said you are a Major Rager. James then said I would be honored to by The viking a drink at the bar. Not being one to turn down a thirsty rocker. The Viking accepted this kind offer from James Hetfield. The Viking and James Hetfield were now instant best friends They drank long and strong to a new friendship that was cast from a bucket of Vodka. Next, on the list James introduced The Viking to Cliff Burton bass guru. The Viking and Cliff hit it off on the spot. Cliff is born only 3 weeks after The Viking. All of the Metallicas and The Viking went Bach to the east side of Chicago after that gig at the Metro to a condo by the airport. The condo was owned by the plaster caster groupies a real decadent hang out. One of the girls was to be the new love of his life Angie Engel Poulas.James told The Viking he had a film from the night and now Jason the Viking Halvorsen is part of the Metallica legacy till the end of time.So, James put The Viking in many of the New and old Metallica videos and Cliff Burton gave The Viking his first bass lessons as The Viking was just starting to play then. The Viking has dedicate his life of bass playing to my great friend the late Cliff Burton may his mighty soul of steel rest in peace forever....The Viking has worked in the music field over 25 years and with such giants as Yngwie Malmsteen, Frank Marino, Neal Schone and the Metallicas. I gave Yngwie the idea to write I am a Viking in a Holiday Inn circa 1983. We have a long standing friendship and I consider him to be one of the true Living Legends and a Rising Force in Rock or modern classical music.In 1986 The Viking moved to Anaheim Ca and found a true love in 1989 in Huntington Beach Ca a Apache Princess named Shelia M. Taylor. Shelia M. Taylor is the great great great Grand Daughter of Geronimo the Apache legend. The Apache Princess and the Viking were married on 12/05/1993. Two weeks after the wedding the love of my life the Apache princess named Shelia M. Taylor lost her mind and free will and was kidnapped and held against her will by her phyco parents and her 100% Apache mother Maria who was born on the Apache reservation. Maria is the great great grand daughter of the legendary Geronimo Chief of the Apache nation. Shelia M. Taylors father is Jack Taylor and her 100% Apache mothers name is Maria. Shelia M. Taylor divorced Jason The viking in 1995 and is estranged and phyco and appears not to be in her sane mind maybe 50% at best.Jason The Viking did a tour in 1993-1994 as the Stage Manager / Drum Tech. with a living Legend by the name of Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush. Frank hails from Canada and Dave Goode played drum's on this tour and Dave is still with Frank.The last night in the bay area the Howard Johnson that the band was staying at burst on fire. The Viking, Frank Marino and the whole band had to beat a very hasty retreat. Frank Marino's wife Denise was seven months pregnant at the time. Talk about a near death experience...Jason began working with Neal Schone from a relationship that he had with Michael T. Ross was the Keyboard player in the LA based band strangers in The Night a UFO tribute. The Viking then took on a project with Neal Schone. The band was called Hardline and the CD was HardLine Two. The Viking did the keyboard arrangements and Mike played keyboards through this hard rock classic. The CD went to number two in Japan and number one in Spain.The Viking is currently working on a Hard Rock / Classical Metal band that he has named Solar Flare. Solar Flare is looking fo ra new bright young solid gold guitar player.
