I am here for Dating, Serious Relationships, Friends and Networking

About Me

I have never been married. I do not have any children. Grew up in a farming family in Missouri and Nebraska. Studied Philosophy at the University of Nebraska. Converted to Christianity my Junior year under the tutelage of my very Roman Catholic Philosophy professors. Never made the leap to Catholicism though. Am just a Christian. I read the Bible and do the best I can.Though I try to get along with everyone, I am very much a type "A" personality and meet few people who can keep up either physically or intellectually. Upon graduation from college, I joined the Marines and that is where I have been until March of 2004 when I decided to get off of active duty and go to the Reserves, since the Marines were not taking active duty personnel to Iraq or Afghanistan at the time. I believe very deeply in our cause overseas. I believe that freedom is fundamental to right relationship with God and that God desires all of his children to be free--black, white, arab, asian, latino or otherwise. Free to choose him--or not. This is a tautology. True of the very nature of God, and love. Have been trying to deploy to either theater as a Reservist ever since. In the interim, I went to grad school.I love God with all my heart. Everything I do is a form of worship; so I opted to study Systematic Theology at Marquette University. Having now completed my masters, I am pending orders back to active duty and (hopefully) subsequent deployment. At some point, I will continue PhD studies. For now, I am seeking what I have always sought as a Marine; to be the fiercest, most feared, respected, intelligent, articulate, just, righteous, famous and holy Marine in the world--for God's glory. I would love to meet anyone who will help me to do that.I like to travel and hope to travel more in the future. I have been all over the world and all over this country. Who knows where I might land next? Every day is an amazing adventure.Military Schools:2006: Survival Evasion Resistance and Escape, Coronado California2002-2003: Amphibious Warfare School (Phase I), Okinawa, Japan2000: Expeditionary Warfare Training Group, Pacific, Twentynine Palms, California1999-2000: Combat Engineer Officer's Course, Camp LeJeune, North Carolina2000: The Basic School, Quantico, Virginia2000: Marine Officer Candidate's School Quantico, Virginia

My Interests

Weightlifting, nutrition, running, tri-athlons, scuba diving, drinking beer, reading (especially the classics), movies, plays, working on old cars, loud music, louder cars, driving really fast. I have worked on, driven, or rebuilt most anything with wheels. I am especially partial to souping up older Fords. Have rebuilt a couple of the loudest and fastest. I like to drag race.

I'd like to meet:

Frankly, I am looking for female friends. After several years in the Marines, the whole "commeraderie" thing is over-rated. Am looking for Godly female companionship. I have a very strong personality. I lead from the front and am an Ephesians 5:21-33 type of guy. I will always treat my wife like a beautiful princess and will readily lay my life down for her. I hope to meet a very energetic and beautiful Proverbs 31 type of woman for me to serve; someone who is mature and ready to receive my love. I love people very hard. I am a constant encourager and love being around people who are constantly seeking to improve themselves for God's glory. I need someone in my life who is constantly seeking to better herself physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, etc. Working out and good nutrition are a part of my life so a common interest there is a must. Advanced formal education is a plus but not necessarily a pre-requisite because I know that not everyone can afford it. Since I grew up very poor myself, I understand such things. The person should be free-thinking and intelligent though. And if she does not have advanced education, I am hopeful that she is willing to pursue, if I could afford her the oppurtunity. Christianity is a must for marriage and a plus in anything short of that but that too, is not necessarily a pre-requisite for friendship. Just be open-minded and ready to engage in intelligent and logical conversation. On that note, I do not do small talk very well. All of my education, occupational experience and interests are in subjects considered "taboo" for conversation, i.e. Philosophy, Religion and Politics. So if you wanted shallow chit chat, I am not the one for you. I enjoy deeply spiritual, intellectual and logical conversations about a myriad of topics. I am well-read and have probably already thought about, written about, or formally studied most anything you throw at me so if you are just trying to make conversation, be careful that you know your arguments cold and please try to keep up.

Music:

Heavy metal, heavy alternative and hard rock. A little country. Very little rap. Some contemporary Christian is improving.

Movies:

I like thinking movies, movies with Christian themes, action/adventure or fantasy. E.g. the Jason Bourne movies, the original Star Wars series, the Passion of the Christ, Les Miserables, The Count of Monte Cristo, the Lord of the Rings Trilogy (though the books were better), the Indiana Jones movies, the Sixth Sense, The Shawshank Redemption, The Nativity Story, End of the Spear, etc.

Television:

Not much. FOX news, sometimes History or Discovery. On occasion, American Movie Classics will run a good film, as will Turner Classic Movies. Though very athletic myself, I do not watch sports. I think we have elevated sports to the level of idolatrous pornography. Virtually all pro sports I believe to be thoroughly saturated with steroids, human growth hormone, and other illicit drugs. Probably much of the college world too. So I do not watch.

Books:

I like authors like C.S. Lewis, Alexander Solzhenitsyn, Fyodor Dostoyevski, Ann Coulter, etc.

Heroes:

Christ, Socrates, Abraham Lincoln, all veterans who served honorably--especially those who possessed the strong will, faith and moral courage to do so when it was not the politically correct thing to do like during Vietnam and the current unpopular war.
