1) Making and keeping friends. I don't know how I lucked out in having so many amazing friends but I suspect it has something to do with the giant bag of money I carry around.
2) Keeping my mind occupied. Sometimes this involves a book, and at other times making up stories about people on the subway. Shiny objects work too.
3) Clearing my mind. Ugh, I get so TIRED of always THINKING about sparkly things and world peace. Yoga is good for this, but so is drinking.
4) Maintaining cynicism and an interesting personality while still being nice to people. This is tougher than you might think, especially if you hang around hipsters more than once a week. They don't like being nice or even smiling at strangers, both of which I try to encourage unless the stranger is a creepy toothless guy at the Barnes and Noble around Lincoln Center who I unwittingly allowed to hover over me for at least 5 minutes while marveling at how many books Rachel Ray has managed to publish even though they're all exactly the same with eerily similar covers in the same olive green/ocean blue color palette.
5) Jazzercise.
People who live to feel alive.
And this bite of sassafrass:
Anyone who makes a living doing what they want to do.
