About Me

Cuban Funk Syndicate is the production moniker of DJ Rich Nicol from Sydney. I have just started producing music so I hope you like my first track Together and my second track Push Start (electrock remix): I do the vocals on this one. As a DJ I play a blend of deep, sexy and funky house, electro and some breaks/nujazz with the odd old school classic mixed in live. I don't believe in genre fascism I prefer to look at music as sound either beautiful or ugly and many facets in between. Beautiful can be cheesy and ugly can be deep and dirty as hell. Sound is sound and it either flicks your switch or it doesn't. I also do lots of other things which I am passionate about throughout my waking life. I work as an environmentalist and I write. I also love meeting interesting friendly and open people who have something to say that I perhaps haven't heard before, something that may challenge me, cause me to think differently or laterally, something that may touch my heart, my mind and my soul.
