About Me

This layout is from WhateverLife.com; get yours today!Brotha Ash has always admired his heroes like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Harriet Tubman, Malcolm X, and our present black leaders like Reverend Jesse Jackson, Sr. His great-grandmother, Lucy Curry, told him stories of his ancestors, who came from slavery, and it struck a cord with Brotha Ash. He has learned a lot about where he came from so he can know where he is going. He is a strong believer in bringing the black community together. He is proud of his heritage and wants to share it with anyone who will listen. Being black is a banner he wears with dignity, pride, and respect. Chuck D., from the legendary hip-hop group Public Enemy, is his favorite rap lyricist. Having Public Enemy focus on "BLACK UNITY in the late 80's was a great time for the younger generation of African Americans to come together through hip-hop to learn about their heritage and Brotha Ash loved every minute of it. He would wear the "red, black, green" clothes and mediallions to display his black pride. Being young, gifted, and black is something Brotha Ash is very proud of, and to this day he is working hard to do his part in bringing the African American community closer together.Brotha Ash has achieved a lot in a short period of time thanks to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and the support of his family and friends. He has many awards and accolades from his hard work in many arenas. He is a 1984 graduate of John A. Brashear High School, and was a 13Bravo-Field Artillerist in the United States Army and the Army Reserve serving from 1985-1993. He is a Member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church, and a 2000 graduate of Bidwell Training Center, Inc. with a diploma in Information Sciences. He is a Research Assistant for the University of Pittsburgh, a Committee Member for the PA Mid-Atlantic Group, the Center for Minority Health, The Dot Talley Initiative Program, and the Equipoise Group, a Council member of B-PEP (Black Political Empowerment Project), a Student majoring in communications at the University of Pittsburgh, a R&B/Hip-Hop Dancer (DANCING IS IN HIS BLOOD AND IS HIS FAVORITE THING TO DO), and he is also the CEO and Founder of his own company: BROTHA ASH PRODUCTIONS.BROTHA ASH PRODUCTIONS represents African American Culture with class, dignity, style by promoting and advertising events from BROTHA ASH PRODUCTIONS as well as events, businesses, health & church information from other organizations in the Pittsburgh and surrounding areas.
