Talented. Outspoken. Approachable. These are words often used to describe Ki-Ki Brown, former radio personality for Pittsburgh station WAMO 106.7 FM. Now the new part time announcer for Baltimore's 92Q FM WERQ!!!From the beginning, music was a part of Ki-Ki’s life. Daughter to Pittsburgh icon, Sly Jock, Ki-Ki learned the tricks of the trade first hand. “I credit my love for music to my father who introduced it to me a the tender age of three.”Ki-Ki also recognizes the traits instilled in her from her mother. “I credit my mother for her strength. She raised three kids and worked three jobs to support us. I still don’t know how she did it. I’m just glad she did. She taught me to recognize what battles I should fight, stand up for my beliefs and the importance of saving money. I’m still learning that one.”Her career in radio started with a simple internship, in which she encourages every college student to pursue. The experience she gained as an intern in the promotions department for WAMO soon laid the foundation for Ki-Ki to earn the position as the station’s promotions director, in which she held for 5 years.Ki-Ki dominates the airwaves in Pittsburgh for a variety of audiences, currently ranking third in persons 18-35. Ki Ki is versatile for any day-part, hosting the morning show, afternoon, nights, weekends, and now midday’s. Ki Ki is also the executive producer and moderator for the community broadcast Stop the Music/Stop the Violence. Her ultimate goal is to produce and host her very own television talk show for teens that will include entertainment and community oriented features.In her leisure, Ki Ki always finds the time to spend it with her son, Vaughn and two dogs. Professionally, she writes and is currently working to launch a Podcasting program.She's devoted to her young adult ministry at her church Petra International Ministries (non-denominational).Ki Ki is complimented on her “realness”, passion, and positive attitude. She’s extremely motivated and always ready to take on new challenges.
