About Me

Here are four musicians that meet one another amidst a kinetic unpredictability and lulling sense of comfort to create a melancholy creature that combines post hardcore, heavy psychedelic rock, blues and punk. Spider & Fly are well versed in their individual tastes and find commonplace together in their love of creating intuitive and inventive music. Songs built from dirty droning guitar, joined by an intimate rhythm section of indulgent bass and dynamic drums and vocals that range from a low croon to raspy howl, turn everyday themes into somber lyrical dreamscapes and dramatic frenzied sprawls.
We've been playing together since April of 2005, and started to gig in 2006 here and there. Our sound is thick and chunky, but also evolutionary in it's elipse away from the standard post hardcore sound others might relate to us. Them. Us. No dividing lines. We make music and love to. Cumulatively, we have over 100 years of music, performance and industry experience though in human years we are in our late twenties early thirties and hard of hearing with regular everyday jobs. It comes down to eating behind the wheel and Cumbies 69 cent refills to keep us going mostly, and jokes.
