About Me

Autumn 2007:
Piasa is done.
A big thank you to everyone who helped, supported, and put up with us along the way. It was appreciated more than you will ever know.
All planned releases, including split compact discs and audio cassettes, have been, to the best of my knowledge, postponed indefinitely or aborted (as they should be, i mean, shit, the band is fucking done).
However, some things may still trickle out and tracks may continue to sneak their way on to various artist compilations from time to time, but i couldn't say for sure... i currently have nothing to do with those things and frankly, i just don't care anymore. Tristan, it seems, would be the person to talk to about things like that.
Assuming that this page isn't deleted or converted at some point in the future, i'll eventually include links to previous members current and/or new projects.
Piasa (pronounced pie-uh-saw) is a band from Virginia.
The rough sketch for what would eventually become the filthy slut that is Piasa, was initially conceived in the summer of 2004, and soon after evolved into a guerrilla noise squad, terrorizing open mic nights, as well as leaving helpless patrons in restaurant, shopping, and strip mall parking lots completely bewildered, thoroughly disgusted, or just plain pissed off, whatever the case may be.
The summer and autumn of 2005 saw the birth of a slightly more focused and collaborative incarnation of the band, playing shows in local basements and venues, with performances focusing primarily on heavy improvisation.
In early 2006, Piasa became a mobile audio terror unit, taking their dirty sounds and filthy minds out on the road and the rest is all noise.
Piasa was fortunate enough to share the stage with some incredibly gifted artists and musicians, as well as (inter)national acts, including:
Realicide, Them Natives, Facemat, Kohoutek, Halflings, Yellow Tears,
The Cathode Terror Secretion, Shallow Waters, Medhammer, Warmth,
Bobby Vomit, Orgasmic Response Unit, Being, Alan George Ledergerber, Perpetual Amnesia, Kakerlak, Spunky Toofers, Grails, Kayo Dot, Cough, Salome, Pygmy Lush, Sail, The New Flesh, Scraping Teeth, Moist Host, Deathroes, Panicsville, Nautical Almanac, Donna Parker, All Violet, HZMT, Twodeadsluts Onegoodfuck, Skeleton Warrior, Hollow Bush, Ichorous,
Prurient, Thee Ultimate VAG, Aaron Dilloway, Hair Police, Wolf Eyes, Andrew W.K., etc, etc, etc.
Information for most, if not all, of these artists can most likely be found on myspace or elsewhere on the world wide web... if you're not already familiar with their music, we strongly encourage you to check them out.

...and if you need to drop us a line... you can still shoot an email on over to [email protected], or contact us here on myspace, though i can't guarantee a speedy reply.
