Ichorous is a harsh noise project from Lowell, Massachusetts. The project got its start in 2004 and began as digital noise created on a computer interface. In early 2005, a CDr demo was given to Ron Lessard, head of RRRecords in hopes of achieving a release on the legendary label. The project soon became fully independent of digital sound and only uses software to master and edit recorded sound.
Lifender (on the aforementioned RRRecords label) was the first release by the project, and was composed digitally. The sound has since evolved into dynamic and brutal analog noise combining straight walls with cut-ups, vocals, and thematic influence from forensic pathology, torture, murder, horror, and the occult.
Mission Statement (revised 7/3/07): As Ichorous, I record, release, and perform my vision of ideal harsh noise. At the moment, I record and release only with labels whose vision, dedication, and aesthetic match and agree with my own.
