The genesis of the band called “IL BACIO DELLA MEDUSA” started in September 2002 thanks to DIEGO PETRINI (drums), FEDERICO CAPRAI (bass) and SIMONE CECCHINI (voice and acoustic guitar).
From the ashes of a previous group which already involved Petrini and Caprai, a new musical artistic laboratory was born: its main purpose has been since the beginning the rediscovery of the 70’s Progressive Rock through the sometimes maniacal search of old vinyl records and it opened up a prosperous and creative season that restored the right dignity of texts and musical arrangements.
After several turnovers of staff (various guitar and keyboard players have come and gone) in 2003 EVA MORELLI (traverso Flute, Contralto Sax, Piccolo) and SIMONE BROZZETTI (guitar) joined the band (he brought the group a definitely Rock Blues sound and a more instinctive and biting style compared to the previous guitar plyers).
After a year and a half of intense work BDM decided to rearrange the pieces under construction and started recording in April 2004. In June the project became real and it came to completion with the making of the first record, the homonymous “IL BACIO DELLA MEDUSA”.
In December 2004 BDM participates and wins the musical contest “ROCK’IN CENTRO” in Perugia: so the band will take part in the European event CLASS’ Eu ROCK 'Festival (with many European bands) in December 2005 in Aix-en-Provence (France).
With much surprise BDM get a hot reception from the French public!
In January 2005 DANIELE RINCHI officially joined the band: with his violin he gave a great contribution to the restyling of the sound of the band; the sound experienced a further evolution thanks to the introduction of new instruments such as Petrini’s organ .
The collaboration with the BLACK WIDOW RECORDS represents the very turning point for the band; the famous Genoese label, renown among prog aficionados, has been distributing the first record of the band starting from may 2005.
From September 2005 the group started working on a new concept album called “DISCESA AGL’INFERI D’UN GIOVANE AMANTE” which has been issued only in May 2006. During those months the group continued promoting the old pieces and at the same time they started testing new pieces revisiting their live performances.
After finishing the album recordings in September 2006 “IL BACIO” stipulated a contract with the Black Widow Records for the reprinting of the first work and the production of the new one (LP-CD).
Currently, BDM works in view of a series of concerts presenting live the concept “Discesa agl’inferi d’un giovane amante” and has planned the recording of the DVD "BDM Live" in Genoa.

La genesi del progetto denominato “IL BACIO DELLA MEDUSA” avviene nel settembre 2002, ad opera di DIEGO PETRINI (Batteria), FEDERICO CAPRAI (Basso) e SIMONE CECCHINI (Voce, Chitarra acustica).
Dalle ceneri di un precedente gruppo che vedeva coinvolti Petrini e Caprai, nasce così quel laboratorio artistico musicale che fin dagli esordi si è posto il problema della riscoperta del Rock Progressive degli anni ’70, operando una ricerca talvolta maniacale di vecchi dischi in vinile, ed inaugurando inoltre una florida stagione creativa in cui verrà restituita la dovuta dignità al testo e all’arrangiamento musicale.
Dopo diversi cambiamenti di organico, (si alterneranno chitarristi e tastieristi), nel 2003 entrano stabile in formazione EVA MORELLI (Flauto Traverso, Sax Contralto, Ottavino) e SIMONE BROZZETTI (Chitarra) che porterà al BDM un suono decisamente Rock Blues ed uno stile più istintivo e graffiante rispetto ai precedenti chitarristi. Così il BDM, dopo un anno e mezzo di intenso lavoro, decide di riarrangiare i pezzi già in cantiere ed entra in studio di registrazione nell’ aprile 2004.
Il progetto si concretizza in giugno ed arriva a compimento con la realizzazione del primo lavoro discografico, l'omonimo "IL BACIO DELLA MEDUSA".
Nel dicembre 2004 il BDM partecipa e vince il concorso musicale perugino “ROCK’IN CENTRO”: ciò permetterà alla band di prendere parte alla manifestazione europea CLASS Eu ROCK’ Festival (accanto a numerose band europee) svoltasi nel dicembre 2005 ad Aix-en-Provence (Francia).
Con molta sorpresa il BDM ottiene una caldissima accoglienza dal pubblico francese!
Nel Gennaio 2005 è ufficiale l’entrata nel Bacio di DANIELE RINCHI che con il suo violino darà un grande contributo alla ridefinizione del sound del BDM, sound che subirà un ulteriore evoluzione con l’apporto di nuove strumentazioni, come l’organo di Petrini. Ma la vera e propria svolta sarà l’inizio di una collaborazione con la BLACK WIDOW RECORDS, celebre etichetta genovese rinomata tra gli appassionati del genere, che dal maggio 2005 disribuirà ufficialmente il primo lavoro della band.
Dal Settembre 2005 il BDM si ritira in Studio per la realizzazione del nuovo lavoro, un concept album dal titolo “DISCESA AGL’INFERI D’UN GIOVANE AMANTE”, che vedrà la luce soltanto nel maggio 2006. In questi mesi il gruppo continua a pubblicizzare il “vecchio“ lavoro ed inizia a collaudare alcuni nuovi brani rivisitando la propria esibizione live.
Portate a termine le registrazioni del disco, nel settembre 2006 il Bacio firma un contratto discografico con la Black Widow Records per la ristampa del primo lavoro e la produzione del nuovo (LP-CD).
Attualmente il BDM lavora in vista di una serie di concerti che presentino dal vivo il concept “Discesa agl’inferi d’un giovane amante” ed ha in cantiere la registrazione del DVD “BDM Live” a Genova.
