To say that music is an obsession for me is an understatement. Wether its appreciating the deep swoon of Massive Attack, the tribal groove of Peace Division or any song off The Joshua Tree, i make music my life, my passion, and my living.
I immersed mymself into the live band and studio session scene in Melbourne 15 years ago. From the early days on guitar with Serpentine, I switched over to the bass where i quickly got lots of studio session work.
My live appearance and studio session credits for Bass or Guitar include The Nudist Funk Orchestra, James Reyne, Christine Anu, Daryl Braithwaite, TV Rock, Chocolate Starfish, Frequent People, Haunted Craft, Winston Giles's Atari Baby, Tonchi, Propaganda Klann, Sepentine, Shivai, Raunch, Flirt, and The "SuperBand' (which features Daryl Braithwaite, Joe Cammilieri, Ross Wilson and Renee Geyer).
My interest in electronic music was sparked in the mid 90's after hearing Deep Forest's 'World Mix' album. Inspired by the whole concept of creating EDM (electronic dance music) on a home computer was revelating, and with the help of Craig Harnath (from Melbourne's infamous Hothouse Studios), I bought an Atari STE computer and some gadgets and was on my way and writing prolifically in all electronic styles. I tittled my project Doof Nation and started playin live sets out in the Melbourne club scene. In 2001 I remixed Deep Purple's 'Black Night' and was also had tracks released on Bush Records (UK). I have tracks released via MONDO Records(UK), and LDU Records(Italy).
"..I live to play, i play to live for music indulges me, so am indulged, forever young, loving life. My passion is music, forever immersed, let it take me "there" and back, All inspiring. I am influenced by just about everything. Aside from all the amazing music, its about people, true friendships and strong emotional conections in this mentally heady world. Collaborations, all the great bands and Muso's i play with, The travelling opportunities for gigs, honesty, integrity and appreciating the gift of life and never taking anything for granted. Musically, i have no favorite genre or style but i'll say this: From Soulful to Rockin, Tough, Melodic, Funky, Dark, Swingin all describe what I like! Anything laced with a great vocal is always Gold. I Guess you could say You could say i'm a rockdog with a house addiction :D ..."
