Are you a Hapa's Mama or Hapa's Papa?

About Me

I am the publisher of hapasmama.com, a site for the multiracially-minded.
I'm a writer. I'm a white woman married to an Asian-American man, born in Korea, and we have two hapa sons. Being a HAPA's MAMA has changed my perspective on race and culture, and made me more sensitive to people's assumptions and preconceptions about race. I blog on politics, current events, parenting, arts, and our family's experiences with race. But what really makes the site happen is YOUR contribution.
Come on over to hapasmama.com and join the dialogue!
HAPASMAMA.COM currently features a blog, articles, forum, recipes, links, and photo gallery. What would YOU like to see there? The site gets updated all the time, so check back frequently.
HAPASMAMA.COM went live in Jaunary of 2008. Like all websites, it needs TRAFFIC to flourish. If you believe in the goals I've laid out for this site, here's a few things you can do to help:
-Get over there! Read it, comment it, forum it.
-Add hapasmama.com to your MySpace friends. Adding it to your Top Friends would also increase visibility.
-Recommend it to your friends.
-Submit pictures to the Photo Gallery.
-Support site sponsors.
-Make suggestions.
Thank you in advance for your support. Go ahead--make my day. Write me something.

My Interests

Race, culture, film, arts, parenting, spirituality

I'd like to meet:

You. Everyone has something to contribute. Anyone is welcome at hapasmama.com as long as they respect other contributors.

Do you have a child whose racial background is different from yours?

Are you in an interracial relationship?

Does racism make you mad?

Do you have international adoptees in your family?

Has your ethnicity changed how people treat you, or how you see the world?

Music:

Something with a BEAT, people.

Movies:

Something that portrays people and cultures with respect, humor, and realism. As an aspiring screenwriter, I decided to be part of the solution. My two screenplays both feature Asian-American leads.

Books:

I post book reviews on hapasmama.com. Go to the BLOG AND... page to find them. I feature books that explore race, culture, and the multiracial experience.
