Mudslide Stomp is a cool mix of blues and country with hints of jazz, rock and reggae. Inspired by the sound of the Byron Bay Blues and Roots Festival this three piece originals and covers band are on a mission to bring you a stompin' good time. Songwritter, guitarist and vocalist Shane Lee Taylor fronts the band bringing a personal style inspired by blues legends Stevie Ray Vaughan, Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, Eric Clapton and The Doors. Timo Sutinen provides drums and percussion in his own original style which provides a versatile foundation for the music to build on. With congas, snare and kick, timbali's and various other toys Timo's "trash kit" attracts a lot of attention at live shows. Timo's trash sound is inspired by great Aussie rockers like Rob Hurst (Midnite Oil, The Backsliders). Timo's percussion style allows Mudslide Stomp to adjust well to noise restrictions, they can bring it loud for larger venues or bring it down for intimate quiet shows without losing their energy.
Kane Denford provides soulful blues bass and occaisional acoustic rhythm guitar. Kane brings a fresh energy as the youngster of the band. Kane provides a rock solid bass performance to fill out the sound. Mudslide Stomp just love to play, originals or covers, it's all done in their own personal style while honoring their mentors great contributions to music. Mudslide Stomp plan to be around for a long time and hope to add something to that wonderful world of music.
