Tango Remote Control came to life when childhood friends Tony Abou Jaoude (instrumentalist) and Roland Ragi (Sound producer/programmer) got together on a cold January afternoon 2007 and decided to form a band. Not quite sure which direction to take they started experimenting with drum machines, guitars, synths, and old Casios.They were both heavily influenced by the pop culture infused 80’s and spent their childhood, watching National Television zapping between “Dabkeh†and tango competitions. The result: a slightly bipolar approach to music making that, along with the rest of the Lebanese population, sits somewhere between two cultures, and switches back and forth through a remote control to pick the one that fits most.Tango Remote Control recently signed to Pistol Records which on may 6th, 2008 released an album compilation called ‘Cool Chill’ featuring artists from around the globe in which our track PALM TREES & MOSAIC is now available to download.iTunes link: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?
