EN VENENO surge en Las Palmas de Gran Canaria el verano de 1997. Por aquel entonces Juan Carlos M. Borro (vocalista) había abandonado la formación del grupo Mandragora, con los que había tocado algún tiempo, por diferencias de criterios musicales (aunque no por ello perdieron la buena onda). Gracias a Vitolo, compañero de instituto de Juan Carlos, este conoce en una fiesta en Tafira a Acaymo O. Cárdenes (guitarrista) y a Juan Antonio L. Fleitas (Bajista). Ambos, a pesar de no haber formado parte de ningún grupo hasta ese momento saben tocar la guitarra y se muestran muy entusiasmados cuando Juan Carlos les propone montar un nuevo proyecto con algunas composiciones inéditas que tenía en forma de ideas, pero que no había tocado antes con nadie.
El primer local de la nueva banda se organizó en torno al salón de Juan Antonio y debido a que hasta ese momento carecian de batería el grupo se lo montaba en un plan bastante acústico (lejos de los sonidos actuales). Allí tomaron cuerpo canciones actualmente desaparecidas del repertorio de la banda como: Flor, Pétalos Expulasados, La Batalla Perdida, etc... Hasta que Juan Carlos, por motivos académicos, abandonó la formación por plazo de un año.
Afortunadamente el proyecto nunca quedó parado, ya que todos (cada uno por su lado) fueron cocinando ideas para que a la vuelta de Juan Carlos, no sólo no no se desvaneciese la formación, si no que esta arrancase con más fuerza aún que cuando la habían dejado. Esta determinación empujó al grupo a cambiar en alguna de sus costumbres hasta ese momento. En primer lugar tenían que buscar un baterista, y por supuesto también debían abandonar el salón de Juan Antonio y a su entrañable perrita Lin en busca de un sonido más real del que podían obtener con unos recursos demasiado pobres.
Conseguir baterista resultó no ser tan complicado como se habían imaginado en un principio. Aunque tampoco fue levantar una piedra y encontrar quince. En aquellos tiempos en busca del cuarto envenenado pasaron un sin fin de músicos para tantear sensaciones, pero hasta que no dieron con Carlos E. Yagüe. (baterista), que por aquel entonces tocaba la guitarra en Nocturna, no concluyeron la cuadratura del círculo. Con la llegada de Carlos la banda comenzó un largo pulular por locales de ensayo de todas Las Palmas hasta dar con el actual. Y no sólo cambiaron de local en numerosas ocasiones, también hubo algunos guitarristas que intetaron, de una forma u otra, hacer crecer al grupo. Aunque el tiempo demostró que EN VENENO es cosa de cuatro. Los más destacados de estas etapas son nuestros buenos amigos José S. Melo (The Caffein Free Project...) y Juan Andrés Lorenzo A.: ¡Mucha suerte, compañeros!.
El debut de EN VENENO en directo tuvo lugar el 8 febrero del año 2000, en la Sala Paraninfo. Al debut le siguieron multitud de conciertos en salas, localidades y motivos dispares.
El grupo cuenta en su haber (hasta la fecha) con dos grabaciónes de cuatro temas cada una realizada en verano de 2003 y en la primavera de 2008, tres videoclips promocionales y numerosas colaboraciones en BSO's de cortos de directores de la isla; amén de un local propio de grabación con el que esperan que vean la luz más canciones de su amplio repertorio y así procurarles la máxima difusión posible.

EN VENENO arises in Las Palmas of Gran Canaria the summer of 1997. In those days Juan Carlos M. Borro (vocals) had left the formation of the group Mandrágora, with that he had played some time, for differences of musical criteria ( but not for it they lost the good wave). Thanks to Vitolo, Juan Carlos' college in the institute, Knows in a party in Tafira to Acaymo O. Cárdenes (guitar) and to Juan Antonio L. Fleitas (bass). Both, in spite of no having formed part of any group to this moment, know playing and they show very filled with enthusiasm when Juan Carlos proposes them to mount a new project with unpublished compositions that he had in the shape of ideas, but he had not played before with anybody.
The first place of the new band was organized around Juan Antonio's luounge and due to the fact that till that moment they haven't drums, the group, was in an unplugged way (far from the current sounds). There some songs nowadays missing took shape like: Flor, Pétalos Expulsados, La Batalla Perdia... Until Juan Carlos, for academis motives, left the formation in term of one year.
Luckyly the project never stopped because they all (each one for his side) were cooking ideas in order to Juan Carlos' return, not only for the formation not to vanish, the opossite this one was starting powerfully that when he had left them. This determination pushed to the group to chang some of their customs up to this moment. First they had to look for a drum's player, and certainly also they had to leave Juan Antonio's lounge and his most affectionate dog Lin in search of a more real sound than they could obtain with a too poor resources.
To find a drum's player was not complicated as they had imagined at the beginning. Though it was not to take a stone and to find fifteen. In those times looking for the four member it passed a lot musicians to try sensations, but until they did not meet to Carlos E. Yagüe (drums), that in those days was playing the guitar in Nocturna, they did not conclude the squaring of the circle. With Carlos' arrival the band began a long swarm for rooms to essay of the whole Las Palmas to meet the current one. And not only they changed rooms in numerous occasions, also there were some guitarists that who try, of a form or other one, to make grow to the group. Though the time demostrated that EN VENENO it is a thing of four. The most emphasized from these estages are our good friends José S. Melo (The Caffein Free Project...) and Juan Andrés Lorenzo A.: Good luck, mates!!!.
The début of EN VENENO in live took place on February 8, 2000, in Sala Paraninfo. It was followed by multitude of concerts in rooms, localities and different motives.
The band possesses (up to the date) two recordings of four tittles realized in summer of 2003 and spring of 2008, three promotional clips and numerous collaborations in BSO's of shortfilms of the directors of the island. Also have an own recording place with which they hope that they would make more new songs and this way to try the maximun possible diffusion.
