About Me

I like to ride my bike, listen to music and watch movies. I also do what I can to make people's lives better through free market capitalism I live in Lincoln Square and go to coffee shops to work when I need to get out of the house. Where I live is perfect...not far from the city and close to the north shore where all the good riding is. I am also a pretend bike racer when time and money allow, but lately I have been running more. I might chase along the Marathon in the fall if I get back into my groove again. I also enjoy debating economics, politics and history. Lately I have been interested in biblical history and seeing how it has played in current political realities (sort of an extension of Krakuars book on the Mormon church and its history and perception). Fun Fun!!!

My Interests

Music, Legal stuff, Endotracheal Intubation, Cycling, Running, Swimming, the Late 90's Mario Cipollini.

I'd like to meet:

Whoever...AIM- JOHNX712

Music:

Pat Metheny, Converge, Dillinger Escape Plan, Chick Corea, He Who Corrupts, Wes Montgomery, TV on the Radio, Jimmy Eat World, Bill Frisell, Peter Gabriel, Quicksand, The Mars Volta, Radiohead, Tool old Shai Hulud, Wilco Also lately lots of Euro Power metal: Soilwork, Diecast, In Flames, and yes....even Rhapsody!

Movies:

Oceans 11, Lord of The Rings, all the Alien movies (AVP was horrible), Ghostbusters, Brick, What the BLEEP, cold war era spy movies (Day of the Jackyl is my favorite), I just got the '05 Giro and the '05 Tour of Flanders. Finally got the '06 Tour (12Hour edition), its pretty awesome. My favorite stage is when Schleck wins on Alpe d'Huez. The day Floyd won in Morzine is really good too, just because the Pelaton doesnt know what the hell to do now that Armstrong isnt around anymore. I enjoyed watching T-Mobile drop the ball.

Television:

24, CSI (LV,Miami, and NY), BULLSHIT!, Ali G, Weeds and Lost

Books:

I've been reading Milton Friedman lately, I enjoyed Free to Choose and Money Mischief. Thomas Friedman (no relation that I know of) also wrote a good book last year called The World is Flat. Right now I am reading Globalization and Its Discontents by Stiglitz. He was an economic advisor to Clinton and president of the World Bank. I can't figure out if he has a point or just being a bureaucrat.

Heroes:

Local Cat 2 Road Racers. Floyd Landis and Alexander Vinokourov.
