!!NEWS NEWS!!
THE NEW CD "SUBURBAN HELL" IS NOW OUT!! LOOK OUT FOR IT AT YOUR LOCAL CONVENIENCE STORE
Here's afew quotes from DJ's all accross Australia:
We made it our hero album of the week.....a sensational album, one of the best Australian blues releases I have heard in a long time.....congratulations on such a classic album. - Ian Ross - Blues With A Feeling - 3CR Melbourne
The new Pete Cornelius CD is a bloody ripper. I'm really enjoying it. - Mark Doherty - 4ZZZfm Brisbane
"Pete and DeVilles new CD “Suburban Hell” swings, it Rocks it Rolls, but most of all it’s just bloody great music. His vocals are as smooth as ever and the band with the addition of James Maddock on Sax is sounding just fantastic. This is one hell of a blues CD. Anthony Moulay - BayFM 99.9 – Byron Bay"
I like the new album, its on high rotation in my car, has been for weeks! - Doghouse Dave - The Detonators, Gatorbait.
...its a great album, full of hooks, great playing and "songs".... .. a variety of styles from the Chuck Berry channelled "Dirty Little Mama" to flashes of 1940s big band swing in tracks like "Coal Miner" ...... Economical playing by Cornelius throughout exploiting a fantastic guitar sound that also runs the gamut from raunchy rock, cool swing to surf guitar in Playboy Blues.....Its an album that doesn't fade into the background as each track jerks your attention back as it offers up something new....the band and backing musos COOK!!!! In my humble opinion the best work I've heard from Cornelius yet. - Tony Jaggers - Mojos and Jellyrolls - 2EARfm
This is a great album, Pete has really come of age. OZ blues it is, but with the experience he's had overseas he's put his stamp on the 'global' meaning of blues, and that's a good thing. I love it! - Tecka - HOTfm Mildura
I really love this CD. I like all Pete's CDs, and my fave was Creatures Of the Night , mainly because it was so retro, but this newie seems even more so and beats it hands down!. I've got it on the shuffle with all the Alligators and so on you sent recently and have to keep pinching myself when I go to check who's responsible for the awesome track I just heard, only to discover it's one of Pete's. I'll be featuring it in a forthcoming program! Cheers! - Gil Onyett - Black Routes Fridays 2RDJ fm
I think Suburban Hell is without doubt Pete's best CD yet. His leaning towards the old school classic rhythm & blues sound is fantastic and still sounds new and fresh. - Henry Prokop
An iconic blues album from the future of Australian Blues music. Yes I like it, Pete's best yet. Geoff Pegler www.bluesbeatradio.com
Pete Cornelius' CD "Suburban Hell" is one of the best CD's I've ever heard! Do yourself a favour and go get one. - Pete Williams - Treasurer Launceston Blues Club
On my first encounter, Suburban Hell immediately became my personal favourite of Pete Cornelius' output to date! I'm diggin' the less-is-more and retro feel to this CD. It's like Pete's just come back from a holiday with Johnny Guitar Watson! - Martin "Lester" Dunstan - JuzBlooz, 3WAY-FM

Pete Cornelius and the DeVilles est 1999, have set the pace for many Aussie touring rhythm & blues bands. Its hard to Label exactly what these boys are layin' down. Some say its Vintage R&B, West Coast Jump Blues, Tough Texan Shuffles, Hearty Soul Drivin' Sparse Ballads & Up Tempo Rockabilly influenced grooves. Some just say its damm good. What ever you wanna call it, The DeVilles sure have they're roots deep in that early American sound, when Hollow-Body Guitars and fat gas guzzlin 'Cadillac's roamed the streets.
The Multi Award Winning Band have released 4 full length albums, toured endless miles accross our lovely country playin' all the major festivals, including time in the USA and UK.
