About Me

Paul Read

Paul Read

Slide Guitar

A published songwriter with Mushroom Music, Paul has toured extensively in Europe and Australia. Paul’s early influences were Elmore James, John Mayall, The Allman Brothers, Little Feat, Rory Gallagher, Johnny Winter, Canned Heat, Hound Dog Taylor and the Stones. Paul grew up on US and UK import blues and boogie albums and generally always more interested in the songs and the sound of the band as opposed to the virtuoso solo acts. He has jammed with Elvin Bishop and performed opening shows for John Mayall.

Michael Barry

Harmonica and Vocals

Michael took up the harmonica under the guidance of a secret harp kung-fu master who shall remain nameless and has since gone on to play in seedy bars from Bangkok to Hawaii and various points in between. He is presently stuck in cross harp. He also sings stuff that Paul writes and complains when Paul rearranges stuff he writes, but then thinks better of it and has a lie down.

Michael Rosenthal

Lead Guitar

Michael was once told by an Indie band that ‘we don’t play blues here.’after sneaking blues licks into the set. So instead, he found him a few nice chaps who’d oblige him with some 12 Bar Blues and he now sneaks the Indie licks in instead.

Mal Forester

Bass

Mal is a Sydney Blues Veteran and keen student of American Styles, conducting regular pilgrimages to the States. He is also the owner of the single largest Acetone amplifier we’ve ever seen.

Mark Graeber

Drums & Percussion

Mark ‘Groover’ Graeber has shared the stage with the likes of Cold Chisel, Rose Tattoo and toured Australia, Wollongong, Wollongong and Dapto. Mark has pursued a lifetime commitment to hitting things in a rhythmic fashion and now he’s locked in the Stormcellar with us!
