Free Soul is one of the most dynamic bands of the Greek rock’n’roll scene. They were formed in 2002 by Andreas Christopoulos, former member of Down Town Blues and Kinky. Throughout the years the band’s line-up has changed several times and so has its musical style before settling into its current line up and dynamite revival rock’n’roll.
So far the band has given many concerts in Greece as a headline act, has taken part in the international rockabilly festival White Boppin’ Tower and has also been the support act for the legendary Dr Feelgood and the contemporary queen of rockabilly Sue Moreno.
Their debut album Teasing Woman was released in 2007. It features 10 original compositions and two cover versions. Its mixture of rock’n’roll, rockabilly, country and southern rock in combination with the band’s enthusiastic playing makes it an instant winner! It’s the perfect soundtrack for those who like beautiful women, booze and wild rock’n’roll.
From October 2007 Andreas Kapetanakis has replaced George Didas on bass since the aforementioned member of the band is fulfilling his military obligations. Antreas Kapetanakis is studying counterpoint and has been paying bass for six years. He also plays acoustic guitar and piano and has been a member of several bands. He is one of the founding members of the rock group Pirina Nefi.
