The campaign involves concerts aimed at spreading an anti-racist message. It follows in the tradition of the 1970s Rock Against Racism (RAR) campaign, which also involved the Anti-Nazi League.
Love Music Hate Racism uses the positive energy of the music scene to fight back against the racism
being pushed by Nazi organisations like the BNP.
The BNP is a fascist organisation that stands in the tradition of Hitler’s Nazis. It tries to gain support by whipping up hatred against every minority, just as Hitler did. It stands against our democratic rights.
While we have no local BNP councillors in the North East, every election dozens stand (two are standing in Middlesbrough in the forthcoming March by-elections). Together we can make them feel as intimidated, as insignificant, as they would like to make every minority in our "UNITED" Kingdom feel. Which is why we have started this regional group in the north east.
The north east is a bustling melting pot of bands and musicians and it's time we
put our heads together and did something about the propaganda and bullshit that
these Nazi groups are putting in people's heads.
