Created by Michael Narlinger, Read The Footnotes Productions is a music-based production company, located in Southern California. RTF Productions is looking to develop talented unsigned artists from across the globe in the recording studio.
What can we do?
RTF Productions provides unsigned artists with the opportunity to record full-length albums in the top recording studios in Los Angeles, CA, such as Bombshelter Studios (www.bombshelterstudios.com), with extremely talented producers such as Chris Fudurich (Nada Surf, Finch, RX Bandits, etc.). The results are MAJOR label quality recordings; we are willing to invest substantial capital in YOUR music. The goal is to produce a finished product that can be picked up by a major label once we leave mastering.
What Happens to the Finished Product?
RTF Productions takes the finished product to major record labels, publisher, etc. and looks to “flip†the record before it is ever released for commercial consumption by the general public.
How Do We Benefit The Major Labels?
RTF Productions strives to minimize the front-end risk for major record labels. By incurring the costs for scouting, A&R research, and the recordings, RTF Productions eliminates these initial costs for a record company. In addition to minimizing actual financial exposure, RTF Productions provides the major labels with a finalized product. All questions about how live tracks or demo tracks will sound as a full production are eliminated for the major labels. The record labels know exactly what they will be able to take to radio, etc.
Are We A Record Label?
NO. We are not interested in distribution as our primary exit strategy. We want to develop partnerships with all record labels and be viewed as an important source of talent by these companies.
Who Are We Interested In?
Any artist that has, what we believe, is a commercially viable product. Although our main focus is in rock, we are willing to take a listen to any genre.
