Blending hard charging Punk Rock guitar riffs, driving bass and pounding drums(yes, he only has 1 leg, amazing isnt it), with vocals that include equal parts heartfelt, melodic, harmonies, and angst ridden screams, the band is somewhere in between Punk, Emo, and Indie Pop that makes a completely original yet familiar sound. They have been compared to everything from 80's bands such as The Replacements, Husker Du, The Pixies and the Police to 90's bands like Nirvana, Superchunk, The Archers Of Loaf, and The Smashing Pumpkins to todays bands, like The Foo Fighters, Jimmy Eat World, and Queens of the Stone Age.The lyrics are introspective and witty and have been compared to such sombodies as the Replacements, Modest Mouse, Sebadoh, and the Foo Fighters.Originally formed in 2002 as a recording project of Owen Biggs, their 4 song demo quickly got them noticed.Less than 2 months after finishing the demo they were signed to Fastmusic by Neal Ganslaw. They went back to L.A. to record 6 more songs and quickly had a 10 song cd ready.Released in May of 2004, The Self titled debut quickly became a college favorite and indie rock staple on online stations like Punkradiocast.com, consistently finishing in the top 5 of their radio countdown and coming in 4th for album of the year. Their track "At My Expense" was featured on The Punk Vs. Emo soundtrack that included some of today's best new bands such as Rufio, Bayside, The Goodwill, onelinedrawing, and Mae and sold over 15,000 copies. With an aggressive and energetic live show that also manages to mirror the sound and feel of the cd, the band has built up a strong NY following by opening for major acts at The Downtown on LI and places like Kennys Castaways, The Continental, The Lit lounge and The Theatre at MSG in NYC for Festivals like CMJ, The MEANY Fest, and The NY International Music Fest. They have also toured the east coast from Maine to Michigan to Carolina, and played with anyone from Fall Out Boy, Yellowcard, and Gym Class Heroes to bands like Greg Raposo, The Catheders, Madison, Houston Calls, and Race the Sun.The band made a video for their single Alphabetically with NJ Video Comapany Grey Sky Productions. Grey Sky has worked with major Artists My Chemical Romance, Sleepstation, Jennifer Marks. Be sure to check them out.

Sounds Like: How about this......by John D. Luerssen All Music review......On its self-titled debut, Long Island's Action Toolbelt is an amalgam of late-'80s and early-'90s American underground rock, (think everyone from the Pixies to Superchunk, the Replacements to Too Much Joy). To quote that infamous cereal peddler, Tony the Tiger, "They're Greaatt!" Hooks are in ample supply, but instead of being over the top, Toolbelt has a subtle charm, not unlike Archers of Loaf circa Icky Mettle as tunes like "Away Home" assert. Frontman Owen Biggs is a convincing host, and radio- and iPod-ready tracks like "I Quit" and "Sick and Tired" warrant the repeat button. Meanwhile, "Alphabetically" just might be the best tune the Foo Fighters never wrote, but "By the Way" is the album's secret weapon — nicking the pacing of Gin Blossoms' "Hey Jealousy" and making it all sound new again.
