About Me

From the war ridden streets of Chicago Illinois a young energetic MC by the name of Chi-ILL and his crew The Torture Chamber are rising to the occasion on a mission to put Chicago on the Hip-Hop map for good. Growing up everyone around him knew he was destined to be a performer, at age 5 he would learn the lyrics and dance steps from popular music videos and perform them for parents and teachers. As he grew older a close cousin introduced him to Hip-Hop music and from that day forward it was his passion. At age 12 he found a black cassette with no label on it in his home, when he put it in his tape deck it turned out to be the NWA album Straight Outta Compton. This was the first time he had heard the harsh realities he had seen in his own hood on record. Being a fan of the music and the culture Chi began learning the art of storytelling and freestyling. After the death of a close childhood friend named Isaac aka TERN Chi-ILL was approached by a group of his closest homies who told him that his freestyling and song writing talents had to be taken to another level,from the street corner to the studio. He did just that. While recording his first hood album YOU TOOK THE WRONG TERN he also hit the club freestyle circuit in an attempt to gain underground respect. His winning record was undisputed , he would battle ten MCs at every function and take home the pot money , it was his hustle. Throughout many years of struggle, death, drugs, and poverty Chi-ILL persevered in his fight for a deal and has yet to give up. He recently connected with a Legend from his hood Dj Nonstop and together they have been spreading the Chi-ILL Hip-Hop gospel without an ounce of doubt that Chi will be signed to a major deal soon. Now 27 years old, Chis style and art have matured into adulthood and given the chance he will hold the integrity of Hip-Hop on his shoulders. Chi-ILL THE SEARS TOWER
