About Me

Straight out the hood of Logan Square, a cell without bars, a prison to my youth, the street - the concrete yard. (Pamp) As a young blood, Pamp traveled through the filthiest veins. Never did he imagine becoming a recording artist whose music would be pumped throughout the city’s arteries. In 1996, Pamp was approached by A&R Bear Who? of Underground Construction Music. Bear placed a concept before Pamp and challenged his ability as an emcee. Pamp, no stranger to adversity, agreed to the challenge. The idea set forth before Pamp sounded far fetched but later would capture the attention of the house music industry. Surrounded by the hip-hop/hip-house movement of the early 80’s, Pamp depended on his roots to acquire a style which reflected his being. The result was a hard-hittin’, trunk-rattlin’, foot workin’, jack track laced with the vocals of a B-Boy. What was the project that challenged Pamp’s ability as an emcee? Well, the idea presented by B? was a house track called…Butta'. See, Pamp was well versed in writing hip-hop songs but never imagined writing/rapping over house beats. Besides, the beats per minute (bpm) were way faster than your average hip-hop track. So in October of 1996, Pamp headed to the lab and restructured the face of hard house music. Pamp wrote and recorded the lyrics to Butta' with the vision of becoming the voice of a silenced culture. Pamp signed with Underground Construction Music and began his journey as a spokesman for the house music industry. In a months time, Butta’ was being played by Djs on radio stations throughout the U.S. The buzz caused local Djs, promoters, and industry heads to flood the record label’s telephone lines with requests for vinyl, CDs, and performances by that Butta’ kid. The demand was intense and Bear Who? responded by reinforcing the solo artist with a group called ‘Da Knox’. Da’ Knox consisted of Lil’ Dice (Lu Roc), J.T. Smoove (3gueros), Schmoo, Isaiha, Gilbert (Rephl3x Luger) and Jerry. In concert, Pamp & Da’ Knox traveled in and out of the U.S. sharing stages with artist(s) such as Daryl Pandy, Fast Eddie, Dj Deeon, Dj Funk, Dj Bam Bam, Bad Boy Bill, White Knight, George Lamond, Freak Nasty, Luke, Ginuwine, Keith Sweat, and Gilberto Santa Rosa. Their explosive show even landed them a spot on a television show in Mexico called “Dance En El Siete” which aired for 2,000,000 viewers in Central America. The movement was so powerful that by the end of 1997 Pamp was recognized and awarded U.C. Music’s artist of the year. Thereafter, Pamp returned to the studio and recorded another successful song called ‘Shake’ that trembled throughout every neighborhood, ghetto, and borough. As Pamp & Da’ Knox prepared to launch a full length album, tragedy struck. The owner of U.C. Music passed away (RIP Dj Attack). The mission came to an abrupt end leaving Pamp & Da’ Knox stranded on the industry’s battlefield. Fans were left stuck… ears glued to the radio waiting to hear what happened to the group that brought energy to the stage. Pamp went underground and fine tuned his skill as a writer/emcee. He completed independent work for radio stations like B96 and Power 92.3. Currently, Pamp is in the studio recording his album. He is dedicated to bringing you the latest in the Chicago house sound. Get ready… it’s time to jack!
